For my tall sisters here is an awesome faux fur coat option for you:  Jeans // Tie neck top //  Coat

Jack Frost is definitely nipping at my nose and for me there is no better way to keep the cold winds at bay than by slipping into a full length faux fur coat.  Truth be told I’m a sucker for just about anything faux fur.  From faux fur coats, hats and scarves – I love it all!

So for this look I was going for a casually chic brunch look. I threw together some jeans, booties, and a warm yet slightly sexy sweater – and of course, the coat.  This leopard print stunner is warm as can be.  We shot this look on a particularly cold day and I was snuggley and warm the entire time.  I scored it from The Shopping Channel a couple years ago and I’ve never regretted this purchase.  The coat gives me retro 80s vibes that I’m totally diggin.

This tie neck sweater is equally comfortable and very versatile.  I can easily pair it with some printed wide leg pants or a cute pencil skirt for a chick work look.

These skinny jeans are ultra comfortable as well and feature side zips at the ankle.  When I’m on the hunt for new jeans I always make sure there’s a lot of stretch and a generous cut to accommodate my hips and derriere.  Often times that means there is some gaping at the waist but a tailor can take care of that easily.

I completed my look with faux calf hair booties and voila I’m ready to enjoy my mimosa (s) LOL!

Plus size sistas here you go!: Coat // Pants // Blouse //

So, some might say I’ve got a thing for coats. And they would be abso-freakin-lutely right! Just about the only thing I like about fall and winter are the cute coats I get to throw on with all my looks. The key for me is often colour, interesting texture and style!

One of the first things I noticed on my first trip to the UK was just how amazing the coats both the men and women were wearing! London has always been known for fashion, but I was taken aback by how such a simple piece of outerwear could make an outfit go from meh to magnifique!

That said, I scooped this coat up from one of my fave stores in the UK – River Island! For years now they have had me salivating over their stylish on trend pieces and their affordable price point (on par with stores like Zara for the most part). This coat with it’s classic print and fab colour immediately caught my eye and I knew we were meant for each other LOL. One thing I love to do when purchasing coats  is looking for something that I will like for more than one season. So with this coat, I loved the classic lines (been seeing this style in one iteration or another for decades), and the print and colour make it stand out from the crowd.

Now, where would I be without a little print on print action? So, to round out my look, I paired my coat with printed, wide-leg trousers, a polka dot blouse, and a bold jewelled belt to add visual interest and highlight my waist-line and I am ready to face old man winter (on a mild winter day anyway!lol)

Judy’s Look

Coat: Eloquii // Faux leather trouser : ASOS // Leopard Print shoes: Amazon // Faux Fur Collar : ASOS

For my tall sisters : Faux leather Trouser : ASOS // Coat :  ASOS

Winter is right upon us and having the right coat for the right occasion is a must.  My lovely coat collection consists of bright colorful classic and timeless cuts. Let me tell you about my yellow coat which  screams, “Come thru Miss Sunshine!” I never shy away from wearing a bright colour in the fall and winter seasons.

Yellow is one of my favorite colours. From bright neon to mustard- I’m here for it! This fabulous coat is a round collar mustard yellow flare coat with puffy sleeves which give me lots of room to move. I’m all for the 3/4 sleeve which allows me to wear I long leather gloves with it. This coat can be worn more fitted if I had a belt or I can wear it like as is.

I threw on my faux leather pants and leopard print pumps which compliments my coat very well. On a windy and cold day I just wrap my neck with my faux fur collar who fits perfectly with my coat.

And I’m ready to slay my day!

Coat: Next (faux fur addition by Myrtle and Oswald) // Jeans: Long Tall Sally (old); similar here // Shoes: Nordstrom (old): similar here or here // Shades: Ziza Boutique

Plus size babe, I’m happy to report that my coat goes up to a size 20 in Tall and and 26 in “regular”!

I am a firm believer that every dope girl should own a jacket as fun and as funky as she is. But of course, when you’re not a size “off the rack”, finding something different is quite the task. Tall women’s wear has made some leaps and bounds in terms of offerings but we are often left with variations of the same ol’ same ol’. That’s why I decided to take matters into my “own” hands.

I had been lusting after this ASOS jacket since I laid eyes on it. But then, when I saw one of my faves rocking it – Hey Tiffany! Hey! – I was determined to have something like it. I searched high and low and unsurprisingly, I found nothing. So I sort of forgot about it. Then, as the summer rays started to fade, I started looking for a cool new jacket. Most of the fun prints that I found were only available in “regular”  size. That’s when a light bulb went on. I said to myself: “Self, how about you get the jacket that you like and simply ADD the fur sleeves like you wanted!!” I then said to myself: “Self, you are BRILLIANT! And I love you and you smell like flowers!!” LOL

So, as is often the case with me, I come up with and idea then stressed about how I could bring it to life!!! I decided to reach out to thee foxy fashion fairy godmother herself: Ms. Michelle “Ms Style” Lyte. The beauty behind Myrtle and Oswald certainly knows her way around everything fur. So naturally, it didn’t take much for her to understand and expertly execute my vision.

The pros of having such a statement coats (as if we really needed one!) is that it will instantly elevate the most simple of looks. As I mentioned a million times, as a mom  on the go, I LIVE  in jeans. So a coat like this one takes this basic jeans and tee look from drab to fab (ok. ok. I don’t actually think that the jeans and tee look is drab…but I had to make it rhyme! LOL).

Tah Tah for now,

The Fab Four xoxo
