If I was told that I was not allowed to wear jeans for a year, I would probably pass out, give up and wear a mumu for the rest of said year. Dramatic much? LOL That’s how much I love my jeans! It’s one of those garments that you can wear in so many ways and for so many different setting so what’s not to love?

Finding the right pair is indeed quite the task, especially when you have so many checks to think about: Is it long enough? Will it pass my hips? What about the butt? If it passes my badunkadunk, will I have the dreaded gap in the back? Will it be stretchy enough or will it flatten the life out of me… literally? So many questions! I think that this is why, finding the right pair is almost like finding Mr Right. You hold on to it and never let go!

For this post, I chose to rock denim but in a completely different way. I saw these overalls and I loved them! I thought that they were funky and trendy and just so freaking cute! Despite the fact that I was told that I looked like Tom Sawyer (yes, the country boy Tom Sawyer LOOOOL) I love these overalls. All joking aside, this is reason number 442,453 on why it is important to still shop at stores that may not be the most tall friendly. You may just end up finding a piece that will work for you, even if that means that you have to rock it your own way (still don’t know if these were meant to be culottes but that’s what it is for me! Take that! LOL)

A good pair of jeans is always a struggle for me to find.  I’ve heard of Fashion Nova but never had the chance to order jeans from them.  I asked around and received good feedback about the company. I browsed through their website and saw countless nice pair of jeans for my curvy frame. Not knowing if the pair of jeans would fit me perfectly, I decided to choose the classic medium wash skinny jeans.

Well I’m happy to report that the pair I got fit me like a glove.  The inseam is long enough that I can wear heels and the jeans have the right amount of stretch in them. Since I chose a high waist cut there is no gaping at the back.  I love my new pair of jeans and would definitively buy another pair. Another important fact is that they cater to tall, straight size and plus sizes.

To complete my outfit I wore my wrap shirt  which is one my favorite items because I can wear it with either shorts or skirts.

Finding the right pair of denim jeans is always satisfying and rewarding because it’s an essential item in your closet.

I love my jeans. They are literally the easiest piece I have in my wardrobe to style. They are a neutral so they go with virtually everything and you can dress them up and down depending on the occasion! Now I know fit can be tricky and finding the right pair to fit your frame can involve a lot of trial and error which is true at any size. But ladies, don’t be afraid to use your tailor to get the fit you want. Fit the biggest part of your body and then have the tailor nip and tuck the rest if needed.

I am totally feeling the ripped jeans look. I gotta admit, when this trend first came back on the scene, I was not about it at all! lol  But I’ve seen so many cute looks and different pairs that I fell in love!

These jeans are also fantastic because they have a TON of stretch to them, so they are comfortable and mold themselves to my frame!

This look was simple, khaki blouse, and my cream coloured jeans. I threw on a couple gold accessories and I was ready for them Toronto streets!

Gail’s Jeans Look

I nabbed these jeans from Penningtons and boy am I glad I did.  The dark blue colour and skinny style attracted me immediately!  These jeans are high waisted and with stretch so they really suck you in yet are really comfy.

For my tall bombshells here are options for you: Jeans  or Jeans // Bodysuit // Jacket

As we mentioned in the outset, jeans can be dressed up or down and in this instance I decided to go for a night out on the town look.

I went for  a black off the shoulder bodysuit, silver heels and light jacket to keep the slightly cool breezes at bay (Fall is coming yikes!).

Tah Tah for now,

The Fab Four
