Prints, Prints and more Prints! The ladies of Fab Four Fashion love nothing more than rocking fun and colourful printed clothing. Today we feature beautiful african printed clothing from the always on point Mélange Mode Collection!
I’m always excited to find new and independent designers creating beautiful clothing that caters to women of ALL sizes! Mélange Mode’s Yvonne Ghyselinck Pearson totally gets it! Her beautiful designs offer something for everyone.
I am thoroughly in love with this maxi length skirt and wearing it makes me feel like a princess! I wanted to create “tension” with this look so I paired this ultra feminine skirt with a faux leather moto style jacket.
On the Mélange Mode site my skirt is shown as a halter style dress but it can be re-designed as a skirt if you wish.
Oh and did I mention that this skirt has pockets!!! There’s nothing I love more than skirts and dresses that have pockets. I wore a royal blue tank top which picks up some of that same colour found in the skirt.
I completed my look with a choker style necklace and hidden beneath my skirt are yellow ankle strap suede pumps.
I’ve always been a fan of African prints. I love how certain prints can give life to an outfit. I’m a sucker for that, so when we got the chance to work with fabulous designer Mélange Mode I couldn’t wait to try one of her spectacular creations. I choose the midi skirt because midi skirts for me are an essential piece in a women wardrobe. You can dress it up with some nice pair of heels or you can dress it down with a pair of flats. Also what I love the most about midi skirts is that you can pair it a wide range of tops and shirts and create different outfits.
Now let me tell you about my skirt. I really love the print of my skirt which is a mix of aqua blue circle and brown blends very well together. I sent Mélange Mode my measurements and so this skirt fits me perfectly. I love the back details, she inserted a small elastic band at the back which gives me room to breathe and I appreciate this.
My skirt is high waisted which gives me a very nice silhouette and I intend to get full use out of this gorgeous skirt. I can’t wait to see what else Melange Mode has in store. One reason we couldn’t wait to work with her is because she caters to every sizes and another plus you can have items custom made according to your measurements.
For this look I went for classy and feminine. I paired my skirt with a high collared off white top and wore my blush coloured pumps. To add a little glam to my look I added a long gold earrings and my 2 gold cuff and now I’m ready to slay!
There are 20 more days left of this horrible period of the year called winter and I could not be more excited. With warmer climes coming soon, I’m eagerly eyeing all things spring/summer and that includes amazing prints and gorgeous jumpsuits.
Let’s come right out of the gate and talk about the perfect length! This, my friends, is what 38” inseam looks like. I am wearing 4” pumps and my shoes are barely making an appearance. And I love it. I also have vacation on my mind, and although my destination has not been finalized, I know that this fab piece will be packed in my suitcase.
The keyhole on the high neck halter jumpsuit adds just the right dose of sexy. I do like a bold statement, so I paired my jumpsuit with the biggest earrings in my arsenal along with some statement bangles.
I’m already dreaming of rocking this baby under the sun. Now I just need to find an actual vacation spot. Any suggestions?
What do you get when you mix a cool print, with some hot colours and a perfect fit? You get a garment that has Leslie’s name written all over it. This peplum top with the exposed front zipper and gorgeous print was crafted by the talent behind Melnage Mode Yvonne, to give an extra curve to those hips, an extra boost in the caboose and give the look of a small waist and that oh so sought after hourglass shape.
Peplum tops can be tricky for me as a slim girl at the taller end of the height spectrum. More often than not, when the waist fits, the shoulders are not wide enough, the torso is often not long enough so the frilly flounce does not quite start at the right spot and let’s not even talk about the sleeves! (Lord help me please!) But this top made to my exact measurements highlights all my assets to a “T”.
Since I wanted my hot peplum top to own the show, I paired it with a simple grey marl pencil skirt, and some mint green, patent leather stilettos. This top can easily make the leap from work to play and would be a great addition to any woman’s spring wardrobe!
And since I have it in my “spring line up”, you better watch out world, cause here I come, ready to make a splash.
*A special thank you goes out to our new friend Sharon for finding us this beautiful location for our photo shoot!
Tah-tah for now
