Going To The Chapel…

Summer is just around the corner, heralding the commencement of another wedding season! Finding the right dress to attend different styles of weddings can sometimes be a little tricky. But never fear, the ladies of Fab Four Fashion are here and found some sassy, summery looks to give you some ideas of what to wear when you are attending that wedding.grp IMG_0604

Judy’s LookJS IMG_1733

I’m always on the lookout for the perfect dress. So needless to say, when I have a wedding to attend, I always have a little somethin-somethin’ waiting in the proverbial wings of my closet, just itching to make an appearance. From cocktail weddings style dresses to country style wedding dresses, you name it, I either have it, or plan to find it.JS IMG_1746

Let me tell you about the cute dress that I found that is just perfect for attending a cocktail style wedding.  I first saw it on a gorgeous, fellow blogger that goes by the name of Simplycyn on the Gram, and went straight to the ASOS site to make it mine! It’s a wiggle style dress in a light scuba material. The dress has a lovely vibrant, colourful, flowery pattern, with a high neckline and a small triangular opening at the back. What I love most about it is that it works so well for spring, summer, and early fall.JS IMG_1593

Composed of a light, stretchy scuba material, this dress fits me like a glove, hugging me in all the right places. To accentuate the smallest part of my body, I wore a skinny yellow belt to accompany the dress. But, most importantly, because the dress gives me room to breathe (which I love), I will have enough room to hit the midnight buffet at that wedding!LOL

To complete my cocktail style wedding look, I wore my blush colored pumps, put on my gold cuffs and some dangly earrings, and just like that, I’m ready for the next summer wedding adventure!JS IMG_1763

What will the bride be wearing? What will the venue look like? What about the food? All very exciting questions when I get closer to a wedding date. But most importantly, what am I going to wear?! I need to buy new shoes! Always a good reason to buy shoes LOLnd IMG_1967

When choosing what to wear, the type of wedding is key: you don’t necessarily want to wear a ball gown to a backyard wedding, right? If you’re attending a fun cocktail wedding, then this little number is just the right piece!nd IMG_2052

I love so many things about this dress. The color is so vibrant, it’s definitely an eye catcher. The length is perfect, which is key for us long legged babes. The lace adds just the right touch of class. And of course, it’s open back. All of this spells P-E-R-F-E-C-T-I-O-N in my book!nd IMG_2040

I completed my look with these perfect multi colored Swarovski crystal earrings, simple lace up sandal and huge hair!

When granted the esteemed privilege of baring witness to a couple’s nuptials, there are so many looks that are appropriate these days. Those days of not wearing black to a wedding are over! But when shopping for that dress, my first goal is usually to select a garment that will get many wears in my wardrobe (gotta watch that bottom-line from time to time:-), and of course, I wana slay’em!LT IMG_1255

My second objective, is to hit’em in the gut with a pop of colour! This dress scores high on both fronts! The style is an overall classic, with the added benefit of the off the shoulder style being all the rage this summer; and the fact that it makes me feel like Julia Roberts in “Pretty Woman” after her grand make-over doesn’t hurt one bit!;-)LT IMG_1170

I wanted to keep this look understated, so I paired this fire engine red dress with a bold necklace, simple earrings and a simple gold high-heeled sandals.

So, bring out the preacher man and get me to the church on time baby because I will simply die if I don’t hear those “I dos”!LT IMG_1494

Yes folks, it’s that time of year again – wedding season!  This time around I’m dressed for a romantic vineyard wedding up in the country!  Imagine promenading amongst vines upon vines of grapes ripening in the summer sun – savoring delicious glasses of wine, ah heaven!GT IMG_0513

GT IMG_0927

For these vineyard nuptials I went for a pink and lilac floral off-the-shoulder dress.  The dress, while formfitting, is still very comfortable so I can dance the night away under a twinkling night sky.GT IMG_0929

While I was going for a sexy and romantic look given the daring neckline of the dress, the hemline hits me just below my knee so I’m still keeping it classy too (wink, wink!) LOL

To complete my look, I added this blinged out bracelet and dangly gold earrings.  Of course, I had to have a clutch to hold all my bits and bobs.  With that my friends, I’m ready for another twirl around the dance floor!GT IMG_0523

5 A 7

Grp Edited IMG_7080

Some people call it ‘happy hour’, we Montrealers call it ‘5 a 7’.  Bottom line, it’s the same thing, we just use different terms. Like the legendary Michael Jackson said “So tonight gotta leave that nine to five upon the shelf and just enjoy yourself “. That is exactly what the ladies of Fab Four Fashion plan on doing after work with their killer day outfits that transition right into night.  So, without further ad0 sit back, relax, grab a drink and enjoy the post.

If you see me skipping around during a day at the office, then chances are that I will be getting together with my girls at the end of the day. LOL. That’s when we endulge in some yummy appies and delicious cocktails.
ND Edited IMG_8221

Thankfully, my work environment isn’t too conservative, so my day to night transition is rather simple. For example, during the day, I would rock my faux leather pleated skirt and button up with a blazer. As soon as the clock strikes five, I ditch the blazer and jazz up my look.ND Edited IMG_8195

Here, I added my drapey trench and accentuated my waist with a hairskin leopard print skinny belt. I brought a little bling with my necklace. Then added my mandatory pop of color with mustard pumps and lime clutch.

One thing I miss most about my hometown of Montreal is the Thursday evening 5 a 7 a.k.a. happy-hour to those of you not from Montreal.  It was a time to get together with my friends and head out to the latest hot spot “watering-hole” and chat, sip on some cocktails and maybe do a little two-step if the vibe was right.

Final LT Edited IMG_7488

Since these 5 a 7 always happened after work, we always had to pull out our cutest looks that meshed work and play. My look was all about colour and comfort. This dress rom H&M has that fantastic retro 70’s feel that I love so much, and is just perfect for both a day at the office and an evening on the town.LT Edited IMG_7175

I elected not to fasten the top most button of the dress so I could wear this gold cami underneath to add another layer to the look. Since I can easily get lost in loose fitting pieces, I added a belt to the look to highlight my waist and add more visual interest.LT Edited IMG_7196

To round out my look, I slipped my feet into these beautiful cream and black shoes from Aldo. I actually first caught sight of these babies on the Canadian daytime TV show “The Social” being worn by one of the hosts Melissa Grelo.  I just died when I saw them and I ran out to pick up a pair!

I then threw on my leather coat with detachable fur collar and I was ready for 5 o’clock!LT Edited IMG_7529

What I like to wear for a 5 a 7, is a nice dress that can transition well from the boardroom to a resto lounge after work. I tend to choose dresses that are comfortable and that don’t require too much work to make the leap into my after work adventures other than putting on a pair of pumps and freshening up my makeup.
JS Edited IMG_7723

I personally think that every woman should have these types of dresses in their wardrobe, because it is so cost effective when you consider that you can build 2 or 3 looks with one piece.  You can wear this dress as I did with a fashionable necklace, or layer it with a fitted blazer.
JS Edited IMG_7624

For this look I went for a fitted knee length grey dress, which works well with flats or heels and keeps you looking professional and cute. Our early spring weather has arrived, so I wore black stockings with my mini booties to keep away the chill in the air. Finally to seal the deal on my look I wore my leather and tweed jacket and my leather gloves.

And voila, I’m ready for a cocktail!

There’s nothing like getting together with friends after a hard day’s work.   As a former Montrealer, the Thursday 5 a 7 aka Happy Hour was the ideal day of the week and time frame to celebrate the fast approaching weekend while not being out too long since there is still one more day of work to knock out lol.

It’s ideal to have those pieces in your wardrobe that transition easily from day to night.  I just love having “double duty” clothing options in my closet.gt IMG_7832

gt IMG_7919

I  love this gray knee length dress.  It offers long sleeves for extra warmth if your office tends to be on the cold side.  It also works with a variety of jackets.  Here I chose to wear a houndstooth patterned coat but once in the office I could easily throw on a black tailored jacket and I’d be good to go.
gt IMG_7823

Once the work day is done, I’d ditch the jacket and would transition to wearing a little something sparkly at my neck.  This statement necklace does the trick beautifully.   With that, I’m ready for a well-earned glass of wine!GT Edited IMG_7960

For my brunch look I went with the so called “Canadian Tuxedo”. LOL  Denim on denim was a definite no no for me, but I broke that all up by adding this faux fur vest.

GT IMG_9691

These skinny jeans are the bomb.com.  Now I know finding great fitting jeans or pants, for that matter, can be a difficult task.  When looking for the best fitting jeans, I always try to fit the largest part of my body first.  Yes, often times that means that the waist is too big for me but I just traipse on over to my neighbourhood tailor to have them altered and I’m good to go.

Next came the shoes.  I went for my trusty wedge booties.  Last but not least was this blushed coloured purse by Rebecca Minkoff!  I love this purse because it can be worn cross body or as a regular shoulder bag.  Now my “Canadian Tuxedo” look is complete.  Yo, somebody get me a mimosa!

As you not doubt all know by now, we absolutely love to eat! Any excuse to go out for a good meal is a good excuse for us to get together and hang out. But of course, we like to do it in style! My brunch look was all about stylish comfort.

LT IMG_0073
We’ve been lucky in the 6ix this winter and have not been hit too hard with the winter chill. So I tossed aside my winter parka for a cute punch of colour in the form of this coat.

LT IMG_0107

The rest of my look was subdued elegance. I went for a very neutral colour palette, donning a simple sleeveless oatmeal coloured funnel neck sweater and faux leather leggings.

To round out my outfit, I stepped into my leopard print pumps, threw all my “necessities” into my trusty LV bag and I was ready for my mimosa and some bacony goodness (sorry to my vegetarians out there. I just love my bacon!:-)

One thing I love is getting together with my girls for brunch! We talk, we laugh, and most importantly we eat.  For this post I will highlight what I wear for a typical casual brunch with the ladies. For this look I decided to wear a comfortable outfit that transitions well from brunching to running errands in the 6ix.

I chose to wear a nice blue, camel and black sweater that I scored at H&M which pairs beautifully with my camel “Olivia Pope” inspired coat.

JS IMG_0333

I wore my favorite pair of jeans which are my “Second Yoga Skin” jeans. These jeans are perfect for curvy girls like me as they fit like a glove and they do not cause the gaping at the back of the waist – hallelujah!

To complete my daytime look I jazzed it up with my grey ankle booties I got from BCBG a long time ago. The price was so good that I got the black ones as well. I don’t regret these two purchases at all cause ‘til this day I rock them and they still look like new!

JS IMG_0349

Awww … the struggle of having big feet makes you appreciate it all the more when you find fantastic shoes, and when you have them you treat them like precious gems!

The finishing touches for my look were my camel coat and this cute camel and brown coloured leather clutch, and now I’m ready to start my day.

Brunching is one of those essential parts of life!! That’s when we leave our phones, social media and worries at the door and just focus on connecting. This time, we chose to check out a really laid back spot so I kept my look casual cute.

ND IMG_9839

Most weekends, you’ll catch me wearing jeans. They are comfy, fit for all kinds of occasions and are just a must have for my lifestyle. Because I wanted my look to have a little edge, I decided to go with these ripped jeans (which I distressed myself btw!).

ND IMG_9883

I paired my jeans with a high low sleeveless turtleneck and my trustly leather jacket to keep the chill at bay. Tall girl story about this jacket: it was a gift (from my now hubby) and I loved the jacket BUT the sleeves were too short… Shocking. So to fix that, we took it to a leather goods store and they were able to find leather that matched perfectly to lengthen my jacket! When I tell you that we have to be creative! Finally, because I don’t feel good until I have a pop of color, I finished my look with these hot pink pumps.

Now pass the mimosas… minus the OJ LOL

Do you know what today is?  It’s our Anniversary – come on let’s sing Tony Toni Toné’s song together. Yes, it’s a celebration!  The ladies of Fab Four Fashion are celebrating their 1st year in the blogging world.  Time goes by so fast. It was just a year ago we were rookies trying to make our mark in the fashion world and most importantly spread our message of body positivity.

Grp Edited MG_0530

God, Hard work and dedication got us there and our intention is to continue giving you amazing weekly posts.

Well, today we’ve reached a significant milestone and we are certainly celebrating the best way we know how. Aside from popping champagne, we put together a nice post to show you our celebration outfits and we hope you enjoy it.

Thank you for your constant love and support.

I’m so grateful that we’ve been able to share our message of body positivity with you and showcase some great designers, collections and pieces that work for all body-types. Thank you for following us and I hope you’ve enjoyed the ride as well!

Since it’s a celebration, we just had to paint the town red! And really, what’s a celebration without some hot looks to help us get into the partying mood! My look, is a little glam, a little girlie and a touch of fun. Since I have a slim silhouette, I always love wearing pieces that give me some extra curves. This tutu skirt does just that, lending to the girlie feel as well as enhancing my curves.

LT Edited IMG_0433

I just had to have a little bling, so this sequin top that I scooped up from Top Shop added just the right touch of sparkle. To this I threw on a leather quilted bomber jacket to add some contrast to the girlie, glitziness of the outfit and add a little edge.

LT Edited IMG_0397

Last, but certainly not least, was my finishing touch. These striped pumps from ASOS were the perfect accent to round out my look. And with that I’m ready to eat, drink and be merry….oh yea, and dance till I just can’t dance no more!;-)

A year has come an gone and it feels like just yesterday that Judy, Leslie, Nancy and I came together to create a place where every woman could feel represented.  It has been such a blessing to work alongside these amazing women!

GT Edited IMG_0105

This blog has meant the world to me.  It has given me the opportunity to really express myself in a way I’ve never been able to before.  I’ve always loved fashion.  I remember taping episodes of Fashion Television on the family vcr (I’m probably aging myself by mentioning this LOL) and watching them over and over again.  The issue always became how can I incorporate some of the awesome ready to wear looks and find them in my size!  When that became near impossible I just basically gave up and began making black pants and a top my uniform.  Happily, those days are long gone!

GT Edited IMG_0207

GT Edited IMG_0122

For this look I went with sexy, gothic and edgy all rolled into one.  As you probably know I’m a little gaga for faux fur so of course my blog anniversary look had to incorporate this material somehow.

Given that my look is all black I wanted to play with different textures and materials to make the look more interesting.  So I’m working a faux fur in the form of this 3/4 length jacket and faux leather in the form of this pencil skirt.

GT Edited IMG_0130

To complete my look I went with these eye popping yellow ankle strap pumps and this glorious studded Alexander Wang clutch which converts to a messenger style handbag.   I just love when my accessories can do double duty!  With that I’m off to celebrate good times!

Yes we made it! 1 year might not be a lot for some, but I truly cherish this milestone and couldn’t be more proud to be ¼ of this amazing quartet. So to celebrate our 1 year anniversary I decided to part ways with my usual dress attire and wear an all-white suit.

JS Edited IMG_0269

Let me talk to you about my white suit. I fell in love with it when I saw it on the Eloquii site.  As the avid sales searcher that I am, I bided my time and scored this fabulous suit on sale a few months ago.  The price went down so much around the holidays that I bought it in black as well! This falls in line with the notion that a lady always needs to have a nice suit in her clothing arsenal.

JS Edited IMG_0329

When I saw this suit I had a vision of wearing it with a little sexy black bralet or bustier to take it to the next level. I’m talking Solange epic all white cape wedding picture that would break the internet LOL. Well one is rarely disappointed with Eloquii and can more often than not, expect great quality. The cape fit me perfectly and I don’t have to worry about the sleeves of the blazer being too tight, which is often the case for me when I wear a blazer.

JS Edited IMG_0341

The pants are a good fit and I love that they are high waisted which is a plus when you want to pair it with a crop top. Speaking of crop tops, I chose to wear a sparkly black and silver number which I premiered on our New Year’s Eve post.  To complete my look I wore some black and silver earrings and black pumps and I was ready for the celebration!

So, before I get too emo, let’s get into this outfit shall we! This outfit is 100% me because it is rather simple but accessorized to the fullest! LOL The star is, without a doubt, the skirt. It’s made with a great scuba material which hugs my curves oh so well! It can be worn in so many ways and settings (yes, I will make this work for my business casual office environment!). I love the contrasting striped border – it’s all in the details.

ND Edited IMG_9882

Then, to dress up my look, I went with a slew of cool and bold accessories. First, we have this tasseled necklace. I wore it backward to add a little fun in the back (by now you know that I wear a bunch of things backwards LOL). Then we have this cuff, I love the leather straps because it adds just a hint of toughness to the look. We have this ring that I totally fell head over heels for and the belt, just to define my waist.

With this I was ready to toast with my girls to celebrate one year, wishing for many more!

We are baaack from a much needed hiatus but I must say if feels good to be back. This year I’m focused on my evolving style.  I have so many ideas and I can’t wait to share them with all of you.  For my first look of the year I went with this bedazzling two tone sparkly sequin dress. I thought this dress would be perfect for a proper return to the blogging world.

JS IMG_8841

I scored this dress at a store that, until recently, I don’t really go to very often but since I found this gorgeous dress there I will be sure to browse the Reitman’s store and website more often now.  What I love the most about the dress is the 2 tone copper and silver colours. It’s a very short well fitting bodycon dress with very good stretch fabric.

I love this dress so much I intended to get the full use out of it and I have a vision of adding feathers at the bottom to remix it and to add few extra inch to this fabulous dress.

New year, new look! We couldn’t wait to get back into the action and share some sexy, sizzling looks with you all.

My look: bold and beautiful! This dress called out to me one day as I was perusing the web (a.k.a. on-line shopping). The pattern, fit and detailing were perfect for my style and shape.

LT IMG_9479

The pattern, coupled with the fit, showed off the curves I have and the scoop back was perfect to hide my bra, but still show off a little skin. I love the length of this dress as well, as it is long enough to make Mama happy, but short enough to let that cutie at a party know I got pretty nice gams!;-)

lt IMG_9622

All I needed to do to complete this look was add a little dangle in the form of these earrings from H&M and some nude shoes that keep the dress the focus of the look.

And just like that I’m ready for cocktails and caviar.

Eloquii: In Black and White

js IMG_8198

js IMG_8128

I’m the type of girl who usually stays away from black and white outfits however when I find an outfit with the perfect black and white print, I have to jump on it!

js IMG_8411

And I sure did when this beautiful Eloquii dress caught my attention . The dress has the right mix of sexiness and class and it transitions from day  to night time easily. The dress is a form fitting and knee length with a black and white horizon striped pattern with an asymmetrical hem. I heard before that horizon stripes makes you look wider but I’m happy to report that it is not the case with this dress because it accentuates my curves beautifully!

js IMG_8136

I scored this dress a few weeks ago from Eloquii, the premier  online store for plus size and curvy women. I must say their sizing is pretty generous. I could have gone one size down and it would have still fit perfectly.

I highly recommend this dress.  The quality of the material and the construction are phenomenal and it has the right balance of stretch in it too.

js IMG_8445

To complete my winter look I wore black opaque stockings with ankle booties and you already know me, my lipstick is always an important part of my outfit. I will definitely wear this dress again over the winter and in the spring with some cute pumps.

js IMG_8176

With my new hairdo and my red lipstick I’m ready to SLAY in my Eloquii dress!

RUE107: PART 2

grp IMG_2121

Rue 107 is about celebrating women and fashion, and helping them bring out their inner confidence! We, the ladies of Fab Four Fashion, are here for this and were more than happy to jump into four hot looks that compliment our curves and express our inner divas!

grp IMG_2158

See what happened when Fab Four Fashion and Rue 107 collide!

Nancy’s Look

Another day, another great find! Their tag line – Home of Confidence and Curves – says it all. I had seen Rue 107 but I did not know that they catered to all body types. AND I did not know that the founder was a fellow Haitian! Sa kap fet!! Now that this is out of the way, let’s dig in on the great finds.

ND IMG_2258

This saucy two piece made me forget that  -100 degree weather is at our doorsteps LOL. I fully embrace this resort piece that I will break out during my next vacation.

First off, the fit on these pieces is impeccable. The stretchy material embraces ones curves quite nicely. Despite not being a “tall line”, the length of the skirt worked really well with my long gams. The length of the crop top works really well too. It’s not too short where my entire mid section would be exposed.

ND IMG_2293

Then, the design is also on point. That peplum details on the skirt is the cutest. For someone who isn’t super “hip-py”, this sort of detail adds volume where it’s most needed. This allows me to compete with the Judy’s and the Gail’s of the world! LOL Ok, maybe not… I decided to cross the halter top strings forward for an interesting lookND IMG_2453

I wanted to keep my look in fifty shades of blue so I paired my two piece outfit with some blue pumps. I added two silver cuffs to give it that extra edge. And now we just wait for my winter get away where I can recreate this look with a bit more heat!

Leslie’s Look

IMG_2605

Talk about a little colour to make a girl think of warm temperatures! This outfit is so great for you lucky ladies out ther that will be fortunate enough to be getting away from the cold this winter or who are lucky enough to live in warmer climes year round! But don’t be fooled, these to pieces can be rocked separately to create hot new looks that will work anytime of the year which is key for those of us that love to do wardrobe remixes!

LT IMG_2785

This white bodysuit is very comfortable with a ton of stretch to it. Paired here with this powder blue mini circle skirt, it can also be easily worn with a pair of jeans or a pencil skirt. Talk about versatility! And la piece de resistance is that it comes in sizes 4 to 24!!

LT IMG_2803

This circle skirt has flirtiness in spades! From the colour to the style to the length it just screams, “I am sassy, hear me roar”! LOL If you want to warm this skirt up for the cooler seasons, try rocking it with a cool tee and blazer or a cute off the shoulder sweater and some sexy over-the-knee boots and you’ll be ready to hit the streets!

All in all, spring/summer, winter or fall, you can look hot in this little number from Rue 107!

Gail’s Look

Ladies, I am showing up and showing out in this glorious 2 piece set from Rue107, founded by Marie Jean Baptiste. This collection epitomizes everything that the ladies of Fab Four Fashion stand for – stylish, chic, cutting edge fashions for ALL sizes of women!

GT IMG_2978

GT IMG_2973

This blue peacock 2 piece number is an outfit that is definitely outside of my comfort zone – but you know what, I’m going for it!  I imagine myself sipping a cool tropical concoction in some exotic locale, just taking in the scene.

The fit of this 2 piece number was pretty spot on.  I wore a size 2X for the top and a 3X for the skirt.  The only thing I would suggest is that, if you’re more voluptuous than me, I would recommend sizing up.

GT IMG_3019 re edited

Of course, with a gorgeous body conscious outfit like this, I highly recommend shapewear for a nice smooth look.  I’m wearing a bike shorts style shaper from Maidenform.

I rounded out my look with blue suede slingbacks, a pastel mint green clutch, and a bold statement necklace for extra umph!

Judy’s Look

Like I said in my previous post (seen here), Rue 107 understands that all women, irrespective of size and shape, want to be dressed in style. They cater to women who are confident, not afraid of bold color and print and want to celebrate their shape!

JS IMG_1880

For this look I went with a 2 piece high-waisted skirt and wraparound crop top combo.

JS IMG_1930

This print is bold, in your face and makes people stand up and take notice. It’s totally different from the common leopard print that you usually see. This print makes me want to roar, and screams “I’m bringing sexy back”!LOL Another thing that is great about both these pieces is the stretch factor, which gives you enough room to breathe while still hugging every curve.

JS IMG_1979

You would be more likely to see me wearing this cute 2 piece number on vacation at a hot resort, grooving to some funky tunes and sipping on a fruity drink with lots of rum!LOL. You best believe that this sexy little 2 piece will be traveling with me on my next trip down south!

JS IMG_2018Until next time

Monif C. Plus Sizes: 10 X 10K

IMG_8635 Edited Group Monif C

10 X 10K – I bet you’re wondering why we chose this title huh?!

IMG_8534 Edited Group Monif C

Well this title couldn’t be more appropriate and I’ll give you 2 reasons why. First, designer Monif C is celebrating the 10 year anniversary of her brand and second, the ladies of Fab FourFashion just reached their 10 k follower milestone on Instagram! To celebrate, Monif C. reached out to Fab Four Fashion’s curvy girls Judy and Gail to model her special 10 year anniversary collection and we couldn’t be happier to be part of this historic event!

IMG_8635 Edited Group Monif C

Judy’s Look

I have been following Monif C’s designs for quite some time, and have always been a fan.  I even remember when they showed various plus size models wearing her creations on “Rip the Runway”. It takes a lot of hard work and discipline to last 10 years in the fashion industry, so we couldn’t be more proud of Monif C! It’s also wonderful to see women reaching higher levels of success! (To quote Beyonce: “who runs the world – GIRLS”:-)

IMG_8819 Edited Judy Monif C

I have to confess that when they first reached out to us, Gail and I did a little happy dance and hugged each other while jumping up and down LMAO! Trust and believe over the past few months we’ve done many of those. The feeling of utter excitement and joy is all I can remember. For Monif C. to even notice us was surreal.  Come-on she’s dressed celebrities in the past such as Amber Riley, Jill Scott and many, many more!

IMG_9067 Edited Judy Monif C

So, to celebrate Monif C’s 10 year milestone I chose this stunning sequins gold dress called “Sasha”. This dress couldn’t be more appropriate, it screams glitter and glam! In addition to this, Monif C read my mind with this dress by calling it “Sasha” LOL Doesn’t this remind you of ”Sasha Fierce” circa 2005?.   The fit of this dress is great. I love that the layer underneath the sequins has a lot of stretch.  I really appreciate this because I hate feeling to snug in a dress with no room to breathe. Then again one can only expect the best from Monif C since she designs garments for curvy and plus size women; she understands our needs.

IMG_9212 Edited Judy Monif C

The hem of this dress hits just above the knee which is perfect for me, and I don’t have to worry about feeling too exposed. To complete my look I wore my nude cage sandals which worked like magic with this sparkly little number. I added a gold cuff and long gold earrings which I purchased at BCBG many moons ago and voila; Sasha Fierce is back!

And in 5-4-3-2-1 MIC CHECK 1-2-1-2…I’m ready to set the stage on fire!

Gail’s Look

Like Judy, the first time I laid eyes on Ms. Monif Clarke’s designs was when I was watching an edition of BET’s Rip the Runway!  It was the first time I saw plus size designs and plus size models sayshaying down the runway to cheers and applause and of course looking FIERCE!  I immediately went to the Monif C plus sizes website to check out the entire collection!

So, you can imagine my elation when we were approached by Monif C to participate in their Decade of Curves giveaway.  Judy and I have been great admirers of Ms. Clarke’s designs, her determination and her success in building a design house that continues to stand the test of time – what an achievement!

One of the dresses that first caught my eye was the Monif C convertible dress (oh baby!), but honestly the entire collection was a feast for the eyes!

This gorgeous dress has all the wow factor I want.  Figure enhancing style – check, sexy floor length gown – check, sexy sexy double slits – check and last but not least a gold accent belt to show off my waist – I’m in plus size fashion heaven!

IMG_9289 Edited Gail Monif C redit

I paired this beautiful dress with gold dangly earrings and an oversized gold link bracelet.  The finishing touches were these blush coloured pumps.  Now, Judy and I are both ready to hit the runway – you hear that BET!

Ode to Eloquii: Part 2

IMG_5452 Edited Eloquii 2

I’m still waxing poetic about one of my favourite plus size online retailers – Eloquii!  As I mentioned before, Eloquii is like the BCBG of the plus size fashion world offering fashion forward styles froms sizes 14 – 28.

IMG_5246 Edited Eloquii 2

With this look I paired yet another Eloquii crop top with the Kady Fit pant from Eloquii.  What I ADORE about Eloquii is their attention to detail and committment to creating garments that really work for a curvy woman’s body.

IMG_4864 Edited Eloquii 2

For most women the idea of finding a great fitting pair of pants can be quite daunting.  For me, when I would finally find pants that accommodated by generous hips and derriere, the waist of the pants would be HUGE!

IMG_4876 Edited Eloquii 2

Don’t even get me started on the length of hems on trousers.  Needless to say I would leave the fitting me frustrated. However, Eloquii offers their Kady Fit pants in sizes short, regular and long and more importantly for me, the atttention to the cut of the pants means that I’ve got room for my hips and behind without the ugly gaping!  Woohoo!!

IMG_5001 Edited Eloquii 2

I’ve completed my look with what I like to call a little “Frosting”- that being this gorgeous statement necklace from Stella & Dot.

IMG_5452 Edited Eloquii 2

So, if you’re plus size perfect like me and in search of a great fitting pair of pants head on over to Eloquii and let them hook you up!
