The sun is blazing, the humidity in tense and all signs seem to say summer ain’t going nowhere! Except one; look out the window, step outside, go for that evening walk around 6:30 or 7pm. What do you notice? The sun is rapidly disappearing over the horizon! Which in my part of the world can only indicate one thing: old man winter has us in his cross hairs!
But before we break out the parkas, tuques and mittens, we have the blessed calm before the storm, where the chill in the air actually feels refreshing, the trees put on their version of a burlesque show by showing us what’s under all that green then “dropping it like it’s hot”, and we get to strut our stuff in our fall fashion finest! And long tall sally was my first stop for fierce fall finds!
When I happened across this gorgeous chunky turtleneck sweater I knew it would have to be a part of my autumn collection. The thick gauge knit and colour had me thinking of hot coco and crackling logs in the fireplace. Then, I opted to go one size up and rock it as a dress (with some short shorts underneath to hide my lady bits), and I just knew it would definitely heat things up!
Next came this stunning coat. The sleeves are actually LONG! Can we have a moment of silence for long sleeves that are actually long enough for the long limbed ladies?
(moment of silence…)
(moment of silence)
(…and one more moment of silence… 🙂
This elegant camel coat exudes sophistication and Vogue editor level glam! It’s the perfect foundation piece that a woman can wear season after season.
And where would any respectable woman be without her trusty scarf? This scarf is the perfect addition to have on those cooler fall evenings, and also doubles as the perfect decoration for that tote bag! I also just wanted a little bit of print in the overall look to add some panache!
The final pieces to this look were this floppy hat and my black over the knee boots; and with that, I’m ready to heat things up this fall.
So ladies and gents, get ready to dive into fall, because believe it or not, it’s a coming!
And I just have to say a BIG HAPPY 40TH BIRTHDAY to LONG TALL SALLY!!!
Tah tah for now,
