The holiday season is here and with that another office party is around the corner. Every year my work throws amazing glamorous, banquet hall parties and every year I need to bring it in style.

This year I went for simple, elegant and cute with a vibrant red jumper that I found at Ziza Boutique, located in Oakville, Ontario and they have an on-line site and can ship everywhere.
My curvy and plus sisters this one is for you and it’s also available in black!

js-edited-img_8909

This red jumper screams holiday jingle bells all the way, with a fitted bottom to accentuate my curves. I love the loose top portion which allows me to indulge in extra appetizers and drinks without feeling too snug lol.

js-edited-img_8858

Last but not least, the back of the jumper has an exposed zipper, which from the back gives you the illusion of it being 2 pieces.

My office party look wouldn’t be complete without a pair of leopard print pumps and a dazzling necklace.

This dress channels my inner Julia Roberts in “Pretty Woman” post make-over of course!lol Not only did I choose this gorgeous designer dress because of the vibrant colour, but the fit was freaking phenomenal.

nd-edited-img_7801

First and foremost, we tall girls know that length is everything, and this dress hits me at the perfect spot to keep it cute and classy at that corporate holiday event. The colour is so in keeping with the season matching so perfectly with my boy St. Nick, LOL, and the fit and flare style accentuates my waist-line, creating more of an hourglass silhouette. Added to this long list of attributes is that it also has pockets (this frock rocks)!

nd-edited-img_7882

But ladies, we all know that the holiday season is one of the most expensive times of the year, so wouldn’t it be great to save a few bucks at this time of year and still make a splash at any holiday party? Well, I’ve got good news for you, you can rent this stunning designer dress at a fraction of the cost. Fitzroy Boutique’s got you covered!

nd-edited-img_8146

Accessorizing this look was veritable child’s play; I rocked these to die for high heeled silver sandals and a fun, festive clutch. The requisite bling was then added and I  was ready to work the room at that office holiday event!

This year I decided to remix my black business suit and added these faux fur leather front paneled pants.  I’ve feature both the pants and the jacket before.  I love when clothing in my wardrobe can do double duty!!

I first featured this peplum jacket in this post we did called Les Poupounes de Luxes which offers clothing for women of ALL SIZES! 3 cheers for companies that recognize and offer clothing for all women!  I love the of the style jacket as the flirty peplum  conceals any parts of your body that one might not be crazy about while cinching me in at my waist.

I paired this gem of a jacket with these faux leather front paneled pants that are super comfy and ultra chic and I featured them here on the blog in the post we did called Suzy Shier.  The pants are on pull on and feature a banded waist.  They also have small angled zips on the front.

gt-edited-img_9061

To spice this look up further I added hot pink pumps and this blinged out necktie necklace!

I said it on Cityline and I’ll say it again; my office holiday party look is all about sticking to the 3 c’s: cute, conservative and classy. That holiday party is just not the place to show off Conchita and Rosita (as my friends lovingly calls her boobs!lol). Nor is it time to rock that sexy little number you wore to the club last week that showed off that mole on your thigh! We wanna show your colleagues that you got style and class whether it be in the boardroom or on the dance-floor!

lt-edited-img_8208

I simply LOVE this dress I picked up at Ziza Boutique. The colour is what first caught my eye and the style made me have to have it! It has the perfect amount of funky with the cool frill detail and the classic fit is perfect to highlight my figure.

lt-edited-img_8305

Now, let me tell you about these shoes!!!! Shoes can make or break a party night right? If your feet hurt, you will become a party pooper. These gorgeous blue babies, again from Ziza Boutique, made my breath catch in my throat when I first laid eyes on them! I tried to play it cool, but the girls could tell, it was love at first sight!

lt-edited-img_8392

I kept my accessories simple, yet festive, with a pair of sparkly earrings and bracelet, and of course some jewels for my fingers!

This look will definitely leave a positive lasting impression at any office holiday event!

The Fab Four

An Azazie Fairytale

grp-img_1391

What more can we say about Azazie? Considering that we have teamed up with them for a second time attests to the fact that we are big fans. Azazie is your go to dress shop, from bridesmaids dresses to cocktail dresses, especially since each gorgeous gown comes in every size, and a wide array of colors to choose from. It’s simple as 1-2-3: 1. Fall in love with a dress 2. Enter your measurements (and that’s multiple measurement points to ensure perfect fit!) 3. Rock your gorgeous dress. It’ll never be too big, small, short or long!

grp-img_1313

But don’t take our word for it, judge for yourself! Take a peak at our pictures, but then again you would have to see the dresses in person to truly witness how beautifully crafted they are.

Nancy’s Look

nd-img_0187

Ethereal. Astonishing. Regal. These are some of the few words that people will use to describe you when they see you in your Azazie dress! Whatever your style, they have it. From floor length to short, conservative to skin-flaunting, there is something for everyone. If you’re like me, your biggest problem will be to choose just one!

nd-img_0167

Tall girls, attention please, attention please. With Azazie, your dresses will never, and I mean never, be too short. I always said that I would never complain that a dress is too long, and this one is veeeery long. I am wearing 4in sandals and there isn’t ever a toe in sight! Could this be the very first time in my life that I get anything hemmed???? Naaaaahhhhh LOL.

nd-img_0320

This dress is beautifully crafted and no detail is spared. The bodice is perfectly fitted all while taking into account your bust size (so much so that wearing a bra is totally optional – the girls will stay put and no fear of wardrobe malfunctions).

Only warning I have for anyone thinking of getting an Azazie dress: be prepared to dazzle everyone. All eyes WILL be on you so head high, shoulders back and sway them hips!

nd-img_0284Dress: Azazie // Necklace: Ziza Boutique // Bracelet: Ziza Boutique // Shoes (tho invisible LOL): long tall sally (old); similar here

Gail’s Look

I really love Azazie for the fact that no matter your size, height or body shape, you can find a beautiful dress in a size you!

gt-img_0448

This sequin number is making all kinds of noise.  I love sequins so there was no doubt that I had to have this gorgeous dress plus this dress is completely customizable.

gt-img_0516

Simply enter in your measurements, Azazie walks you through this process, and boom your dress is in your hands in a matter of weeks.

gt-img_0562

The fit of the dress is spot on.  The sweetheart neckline is very flattering and the length is perfect as the dress puddles beautifully on the ground.  The dress also comes with built in boning so you really feel held in.

gt-img_0473

To stylify my look (yes, I know stylify is not a word LOL), I added this black faux fur stole, large silver dangly earrings, and silver pumps.  Just like that, I’m looking like the blak Mae West! LOL

lt-img_1130

Red carpet ready; that is how I would have to describe this gorgeous gown. Azazie has done it again, creating a beautiful made-to-measure gown that fits my every curve to a T. No need for that trip to the tailor when it comes to an Azazie garment. So long as you know how to use a tape measure, you’re good as gold!

lt-img_1003

I selected this particular piece as I love the silhouette it gives me, highlighting my curves and how it exposes my shoulders. I also love this eye-catching shade of yellow which sets you apart from the crowd. Some people tend to leave those vibrant colours behind with the onset of winter. In my opinion we need them more now than ever to counteract those grey days!

lt-img_1294

My accessories were oh so simple for this look. Big sparkly earrings, a blinged out bracelet  and a couple of bold bobbles for my fingers and I was ready to walk the red carpet at any formal event!

lt-img_1112

Judy’s Look

js-img_0726

Lately I have been in the mood for the color yellow. From bright lemon to the color of sunshine I’m here for it. This time around I chose a dress in a marigold color.

js-img_0694

This color compliments my skin tone so well that I feel like a ray of sunshine. I chose this dress named the Fatima Bridesmaid which is a sweetheart neckline, A-line cut dress with straps that come close together, and is attached with a button at the back. This dress is floor length and even in heels you cannot see my feet, which elongates my silhouette.

js-img_0899

This dress fits my body very well. I love the fact that there is boning around the boob area, which gives me real support even with my strapless bra. The chiffon material flows beautifully and makes me feel like I’m floating when I walk. I am extremely satisfied with this dress. I can’t wait to wear this gown for a wedding or an elegant gala.

To complete my look, I kept it simple with long gold earrings and a gold bracelet.

With that said, Cinderella ain’t got nothing on me!

Fall with Eshakti Part 1

grp-edited-img_1568

We have sung the praises of eShakti in previous posts seen here and here and we will continue to do so!  We love when manufacturers and retailers provide fashionable options for women of all sizes – now that’s fashion democracy at its best!  Founded back in 1999 by B.G. Krishnan, eShakti strives to offer fun fashion forward styles which can all be customized for your body at an affordable price.  Now that’s a match made in fashion heaven!

grp-edited-img_1495

Judy’s Look

js-edited-img_0524

When it comes to fashion for all and every fit, Eshakti is here, and I couldn’t be happier to collaborate again with them. This time around I chose this simple mustard fit and flare, knee length dress.

I chose to get my dress customized so I can get the waist adjusted to my body, and to get the fit and flare look I was going for.

js-edited-img_0602
I don’t know how many times I can stress the fact that I tend to gravitate towards pieces of clothing that I can wear in so many different ways. This dress is so versatile I can wear it in the winter with a pair of over the knee boots, and can wear it in spring and summer with sandals.

js-edited-img_0626

Last but not least, for this look I paired my dress with my printed blue and beige coat that I scored at Old Navy, on sale a few months ago. I added a fur collar just because everything looks better with fur, and I added my leopard print stilettos.

Fashion democracy at its best indeed. When you see how seamlessly eShakti seems to navigate the fashion-for-all world, I really have to wonder if most retailers will eventually follow suit. I for one sure hope so!

image

In order to ensure perfect fit, I entered my measurements and once again, my dress fit me to a tee. The real bonus Tall Chicas is that, if the picture shows the dress being knee length, and you want it to be knee length, then it will BE knee length. What a novel idea lol.

image

The dress comes with a belt that matches its beautiful geometric print, but I swapped it for a belt that was in my closet (the grays ended up going quite well!) just to have that contrast to further accentuate my waist. To keep the chills at bay, I added this camel colored maxi jacket which takes the look from nice to boss in 2.5!

The neckline, sleeve and length of the dress can all be modified. How will you rock it?

Gail’s Look

This look is my ode to military chic.  When I spied this gorgeous army green dress on the eShakti site – it was love at first sight!  The first thing that popped into my head was that En Vogue remake of “He’s the boogie woogie hip hop boy of Company B!” LOL  Man, I was ready to fox trot!

gt-edited-img_0789

The dress is made of a comfy breathable cotton material that has a hint of stretch.  I love the faux knot detail at the neck too.  Once again, eShakti has those wonderful pockets in this dress design that I just love.

gt-edited-img_0876

Next came this camel coloured coat, in petite plus, with gold button -again giving off that military air!

gt-edited-img_0814

I completed my look with patterned pumps and gold embossed purse – now that’s a  salute to style…see what I did just there lol

lt-edited-img_0897

When perusing through the pages of Elle Canada magazine I stumbled across an article featuring some of the hot trends seen on the runway for fall. One of those hot trends lit a fire in my blood and I was determined to recreate it with my own little twist. The trend  was wearing pink and  yellow together.

lt-edited-img_1076

This gorgeous dress from eShakti, which of course me being me, I turned into a skirt is dupioni silk with a high low detail and beautiful front pleat. I’ve been noticing a lot  of pink creeping into my wardrobe of late, but when it comes in the form of a beautiful dress like this, who can resist. Image

What I love about this dress is that I could so easily where it to a wedding or special event, then to expand the “usefulness” of this piece for us ladies on a budget, you can style it with a top or jacket to wear it dinner, brunch or for drinks with the crew.

lt-edited-img_1040

I rocked it with this ¾ sleeve shirt in a vibrant yellow and decided to accentuate my waist with a wide brown belt. Since I love adding a little print whenever I can, I threw on my leopard print pumps, and for a little extra dash of colour (because I was feeling like being bold) I rocked this wine-red clutch to hold my bits and bobs.

And just like that, I transformed this dress from “occasion” wear to everyday gear!

Sister Talk

Grp Edited IMG_9960

The ladies of Fab Four Fashion recently had the wonderful opportunity of appearing on Karlyn Percil‘s television program, SisterTalk airing on Afro Global TV.  Karlyn, a former financial industry executive, is an author, speaker, and leadership coach, who appeared on Oprah’s Life Class. She has made it her mission to help women realize their self-worth and reach their dreams!

When Karlyn reached out to us, we jumped at the chance to appear on her show so we could discuss our passion for fashion and our deep commitment to furthering the body positivity and body diversity movement!

Grp Edited IMG_9959

Gail’s Look

I was truly honoured to appear on Karlyn Percil’s SisterTalk tv program along with the other ladies of Fab Four Fashion.  It was a wonderful opportunity to discuss with Karlyn, and her viewing audience, two topics that is near and dear to our hearts – body positivity and of course fashion.

One of the chief reasons the ladies and I were so eager to start our blog, one that focused on 4 different body types, was so that we could champion the idea that ALL BODIES ARE GOOD BODIES no matter the size, shape or colour.  Also, we wanted to help women who have bodies that are not “off the rack” find stylish clothing that speaks to who they are.

With that, let’s get to my SisterTalk debut outfit.  Every women should own a simple crisp white button-down shirt.  It can be dressed up or down and really is the work horse in a woman’s wardrobe.

I rolled up the sleeves to make it look a little less stuffy.  Next came this awesome sequined skirt from Eloquii.  By now, you all should know that I’m IN LOVE WITH SEQUINS and that my go to online retailer of choice is Eloquii. They just always get it right.GT Edited IMG_9513

When you get invited by the gorgeous tv host Karlyn Percil to appear on her show, SisterTalk, to discuss body positivity, body diversity and of course fashion, you have to come ready to slay.

I departed from my usual signature look, to try on a fitted dress with a touch of flare –both literally and figuratively!  I chose this dress because it describes a few traits of my personality, which is fun, feminine, and fancy.   This dress is cute and satiny and would be perfect for a cocktail wedding, tea party, and definitely appropriate for our first tv interview.

JS Edited IMG_8733

I scored this dress a few months ago at Forever 21 in the plus size section. I was a bit shocked to find it since it’s not the usual style I see at this store.  Nevertheless I was quite excited when I happened upon it, and at an affordable price too. I’m not usually a big fan of floral print, but the big pink and silver flowers printed on top of the dark blue dress, is a match made in heaven.
JS Edited IMG_8890

To polish off my look, I opted to keep it simple by wearing a mix of pearls and a beaded necklace.  The pearl earrings which I received for my birthday a few years ago, is something I truly cherish. To accentuate my waist line I wore a tiny gold belt and my blush pumps.  Please note: these pumps were one of the best shoe investments I’ve ever made LOL.

A first time tv interview can be nerve wrecking, but the right attitude, a killer outfit and your confidence level on 10, will make this experience a positive one and leave an everlasting first impression.

We are very passionate about everything body diversity, therefore, we could not pass up the opportunity to have a great discussion with Karlyn on Sister Talk.

I never pass up the opportunity to discuss the difficulties that I have encountered growing up tall and how I surmounted them in hopes of encouraging and helping out a fellow tall sister. Our gracious host was great about navigating topics from online shopping, to social media and everything in between.

ND Edited IMG_8943

Since I was going to discuss body positivity, I had to wear a garment from a brand that understands longer limbs! A staple in every tall girl’s shopping arsenal is, without a doubt, Long Tall Sally.  This place is my go-to when I need a great fitting pair of pants that cover every single one of my inches. And once again, they saved the day!

These printed palazzo pants are stylish, breezy and comfortable, all while looking extra chic. They fit nicely as a high waist, however, I found that, when higher waisted, the length of the pants would be better suited for flats. Since I wanted to wear heels, I opted to go a size up where it fits nicely at my true waist. These pants will take you from lights, camera, action to a nice stroll in the park in 2.5 seconds flat! Just swap out the top and shoes and you’re good to go!

ND Edited IMG_9139Wanting to make my pants the center of attention, I decided to wear a clean white crop top. To further elevate my look, I added a healthy dose of accessories with a bib necklace, cuff earring and more silver bracelets. My pop of color came via my lippie and yellow pumps.

Once again, I am sincerely grateful to Afro Global TV and Sister Talk for having us and for being so welcoming. Wishing all much continued success!

It’s our Sister Talk debut! We were so excited to share our message of body positivity with the viewers of Sister Talk. And of course for this TV appearance, I wanted to rock a hot look that expressed my personality! My outfit was all about colour and texture.

LT Edited IMG_9792

You may recall the top I’m wearing from our “Prints, Stripes and Neon” post here. You know I love versatility in my wardrobe and this top gets double duty as a vest and a top when tucked in just so. I wanted a piece that would pop on camera and give my skin a nice sun-kissed glow!

LT Edited IMG_9623

I wanted to pair my look with another colour that compliments it so well. This blue textured skirt with its flared shape offers a great contrast to the colour of the top and adds just the right amount of visual interest to take this look up a notch.

To accessorize this look, I wanted to bring the bling! So I wore this beautiful sparkly necklace with simple earrings and a cool cuff to add some shine to my wrist. Now, you all know I love my high heels , so there’s no surprise that I pulled out some stiletto’s with a cool multi colour print that draws on some of the colours in my look.

So, as they say, lights, camera, action! I am ready for my close up baby!

I don’t know about you; but we ready, we ready, yeah we ready, we ready, ready, ready, ready, ready (those who know, know, but for those who don’t know, I didn’t all of a sudden start to stutter, I’m borrowing the words from Bunji Garlin… lol).

ND Edited IMG_7297

Caribana is the time of year when you leave all your inhibitions at the door and just get on’ bad! And I’m here for that. I’m a day party kind of girl. I enjoy a great rooftop, having the sun beaming on my skin, dancing to good tunes while waving my Haitian flag and sipping on some delicious beverages. So for a day party, instead of reaching for a freakum dress, I’ll go for something more playful.

This piece right here fits the bill perfectly. When I heard it calling my name tucked away hidden in between racks, I thought that it was a cute A-line dress and I worried that it was going to be on the short side. But lo and behold, it’s not a dress, it’s a romper!

ND Edited IMG_7325

It has all the winning elements: low scoop back, pockets, a great print, need I say more? The romper is made of polyester so while the material is “stiff” enough to hold its shape, its light weight enough to allow you to bust a move!

Since this romper is a stunner, accessorizing it was a breeze, I just added a dash of gold on my ears and my signature bangles and I am ready to whiiiiine, get ready to whiiiiine (again, those who know, know, and for those who don’t these are words of wisdom from my girl Alison Hinds. LOL)

Let me see your rag…let me see your flag!!! Another fun and exciting Caribana weekend is about to hit the 6ix and I could not wait to limber up, do my stretches in anticipation of working my waist to some sweet soca “rydims”!! Of course, what would all these fabulous fetes be without an equally fabu outfit to make sure I keep up with the sizzle being laid down in the tracks. This look is for the grown and sexy women who know how to “get on bad”, but always leave ‘em wanting more!LOL

LT Edited IMG_6808

This look is all about being cool, comfortable and allows for the flexibility of whining down without any wardrobe malfunctions or potential peep shows!LOL  The fit is perfect in that it hugs my waist, but flows away nicely into a wide leg that gives me an extra sway to my walk! Now tall girls out there, I scooped  this jumpsuit up at Zara, and normally they are amazing at making their pants and jumpsuits with a good length in the inseam. I can usually buy an extra small size and still at my height of 5ft 9in wear at least a 4 inch heel (or higher). This was not the case with this jumpsuit. I had to let out the hem completely to be able to rock it with my high heels.

LT Edited IMG_6858

This look was so simple yet so elegant. The colour makes it impossible for you not to get noticed and for those women who like easy outfits, it’s a jumpsuit so no need to work out that perfect pairing of top and bottom.

Accessorizing was a breeze. I wanted to be glam, so I wore a bold statement necklace and a rose gold cuff. My nude shoes rounded out the look and with that, I was ready to jump and wave!

Caribana is fast approaching, and while we try to hold on to the last few weeks of summer to take advantage of our outfits, we can also pay homage to one of the biggest Caribbean parties of the year!

This year my Caribana vibe is calling for sexy rompers, shorts and jumpers. For a nice evening rooftop party, my outfit of choice is this sexy romper I got from ASOS.  I’m always a fan of prints or geometric graphic prints.

I copped this romper on sale.  I loved the white and black print, although I was initially concerned about the length.  However this romper wasn’t too short, most importantly my peaches were fully covered.

JS Edited IMG_6991

This romper allows me to jump and wave, and more importantly whine up and twerk a little bit LOL. The long sleeves are perfect for the cool summer breezes on the rooftop, because when I’m out for Caribana I don’t like walking around with a coat.

JS Edited IMG_7013

What I like the most about my romper is that it transitions very well from day with a cute pair of flats, to evening with a nice pair of heels.

To spice up my look I went for a black, white and pink, snake skin stiletto that was also purchased from ASOS.  Last but not least, since the romper has a sexy v-neckline, I thought I would add one of my favorite necklaces to accessorize my look.

JS Edited IMG_7088

Now that I’m finally ready I can’t wait to “duck” on my soca tune “Ducking” and find my dance partner for “One Dance” by Drake!

Ooooo wweee here we go – swimsuit season is officially in effect and I for one am very excited!  As I’ve mentioned before this blog has allowed me to move beyond my comfort zone for the better!

GT Edited IMG_3279

Since I was going to be “daring” I went with this gorgeous two piece halter style swimsuit from Forever 21  Plus.  Of course, I had to go with my fave colour combo – black & white.   While I know how to swim, this swimsuit right here is not getting wet at all.  It’s about lounging and cooling out poolside, enjoying a tropical beverage and looking hella hella fly LOL.

GT Edited IMG_3394

GT Edited IMG_4107

This suit is the bomb.com.  The bra portion is padded (but not too much) so it offers those of us who are not as well endowed as others a little extra somethin somethin.  The band reaching across the back is wide too so there’s no digging into my side or back. The bottom of the suit is high waisted and offers some ruching on the panel.  Also the generous cut on the bottoms fit my curves to a “T”!

GT Edited IMG_3294

To complete my pool side look I added a light weight floral kimono , silver wedges and of course some bling!  Now I’m off to enjoy that beverage I mentioned!

For all my curvy ladies out there, the crazy search for the perfect bathing suit is over. Thank you to blogger “Extraordinaire” Gabi Fresh for helping to create Swim Suits for All with her fabulous sexy swim suit collection.

I was extremely shocked and excited to see a brand that carries so many beautiful and sexy bathing suits and, most importantly, bathing suits that I would actually want to wear instead of the boring generic ones out there. It didn’t take too long for me to order 3 bathing suits from the Gabi Fresh collection, and to my pleasant surprise all the bathing suits fit my curvy frame perfectly emphasizing all the right places.

JS Edited IMG_5064

A good piece of advice for anybody who is interested in buying their bathing suits: please look at their size chart and order according to your measurements, and the fit will be just fine.

The bathing suit I’m wearing from Gabi Fresh’s latest collection called the GabiFresh for Swim Sexy is called the Sovereign , which makes me feel like an Egyptian goddess. The cut outs on each side are located at the right places and fit me very well.  The gold detail in the middle accessorizes the bathing suit beautifully.

I want to thank Swimsuits For All for sending me this beautiful bathing suit; and as long as you continue to make suits that speak to me, you will continue to have me as a customer and hopefully one day I can model for you, LOL

A few weeks ago, we decided to bare it all… Figurative that is. But this week, were literally baring it all in our freshest swimsuits!

ND Edited IMG_4147

When choosing a bathing suit, the number one thing for me is to find a good fitting and well supporting bra. This means that I choose ones that come with a bra size. You’ll surely understand how I lost my marbles when I saw that ASOS offered a full bust option with cups going all the way up to a J cup size! How you like them apples!

I will however caution you to consult their size charts. While the smaller cups are the same in US and UK sizes, US cups E and up are slightly smaller in UK sizes. So while my top worked out, I was expecting it to be larger. Took notes for next time!

ND Edited IMG_4216

I got love for the itty bitty bikinis (specifically when traveling to places like Rio where dental floss is a bathing suit option lol), but my first love is the high waist option. This one has cool cutouts which add a dash of sexy while still ensuring full coverage so nothing’s hanging out.

ND Edited IMG_4170

We know that the generously sized bathing suits can cost a pretty penny but ASOS saves the day, once again, by offering a whole gamut of fly options at very pocket friendly prices.

Now ladies and gents, you all know that we are all about body positivity and loving and werking what you got! But, I have never shown so much of what I got on any form of on-line medium before, so needless to say, this post was a bit of a challenge for me. I love my body, and like all men and women, we have areas we want to emphasize and others we want to de-emphasize, but in a bathing suit, oooh doggy, there ain’t no place to hide!LOOOL  So, with that said, without further ado, I present to you my on-line bathing suit premier…

LT Edited IMG_4670

As you must know by now, I love prints, even when they are only on a bikini top and bottom, so when I spied this 2 piece with my little eye, I scooped it up real quick.

LT Edited IMG_4649

The things I love most about this suit besides the print, are the bikini bottoms with the tie sides, as I feel like it gives me a little extra something something on the hip making it appear like my hips may be  a little wider than they actually are (but this could be all in my head, but it works for me!lol). I also love this bikini top with its extra padding that pushes up the “girls” just enough to make it look like I got a little extra shimmy when I shake!:-)

LT Edited IMG_4626

I love this bikini, and despite my initial trepidation, I love doing this post. Loving our bodies can sometimes be a journey. As women, our bodies can go through so many changes and we will often have to adjust to our shapes as time goes by. But we need to remember to continue to love our bodies and all its “2000 parts”!

Office Chic

GRP IMG_8232

Not sure what to wear to the office this summer? Check out some cute looks from the ladies of Fab Four that just might inspire you!

GRP IMG_8185

Nancy’s Look

Sun is shining, the weather is sweet… and as much as we’d all rather be moving our dancing feet, some of us gotta go to work! Thankfully, this season allows us to do so in style.

ND IMG_9246

Summer to me is synonymous with color, color and more color. That’s why I had to work this skirt into my office chic look. I have made full use of it for play time but now it’s just what I needed to werk it at work. The scuba material gives this pencil skirt the best fit.

ND IMG_9265

To remain sexy and cool, I paired my skirt with a lace top. To wear lace at work or not to wear lace at work, that is the question! It all depends on your work environment. Mine is not the most conservative, but nonetheless, I always make sure that I wear it with a tank top that provides full coverage. The goal is always to look professional and classy while being comfortably you. Just rock whatever outfit will make you walk tall like you own the joint (even if you don’t actually own it… yet!).

ND IMG_9563

Since it’s summertime, I try to wear pieces that can easily take me from the boardroom to the bar. So swap your pumps for some lace up sandals, add some bling around your neck and enjoy that cocktail!

It’s 7:30 AM, it’s already 25 degrees out and you’re getting ready to head out to the office, but first, you gotta figure out what to wear! This task can be daunting, especially when you can’t just throw on shorts and a tee. My solution to the summer heat + work outfit dilemma is the flared skirt.

LT IMG_9071

For me, a flared skirt equals great ventilation!lol I need the air to flow around me to keep me cool and I love that feeling of freedom (no pants restricting my movements.

LT IMG_9095

This look was super-dooper simple. I went for a tone on tone mix rocking this purple pleather, sleevless top and a mauve flared midi skirt. The shoes I kept neutral and then threw on some cool accessories to jazz things up a little. This look also transitions extremely well into an after work happy hour event or a nice dinner out!

So bring on the heat, cause I got it beat baby!

As the temperature rises, maintaining that polished professional look can sometimes leave you wondering what to wear to work.  As you make your way to the office, it might be humid and sticky but once you arrive it’s as though you’ve been dropped in a freezer because the air conditioning is cranked all the way up to Antarctica temperatures!  To combat these two extreme scenarios I make sure to have layering pieces in my wardrobe.

GT Edited IMG_9698

For this summer office chic look I went with this 3/4 length jacket to guard me against the frigid ac temp.  Although this jacket is a feminine pink colour, it’s very tailored and sleek.

GT Edited IMG_9713

I then paired my jacket with this cotton (read breathable) dusty rose coloured tank and a cream coloured pencil skirt.  Both of these pieces work to keep me looking business chic but cool and comfy for those commutes to and from work via public transit.

To complete my look I added blushed coloured pumps (worn only at the office and NOT durig my commute as I wouldn’t survive LOL) and the tote purse to hold all my much needed items.  And voila, summer office chic at its best!

The office chic look is right up my alley. When summer comes around I’m ready to show up to show off.   For me an office chic look is when classic professional meets stylish fashionista. Some of my favorite office looks are dresses, pants and printed shirts. Having these essential items can easily allow you to transition from a day at the office to happy hour. Let me introduce you to my office chic look.

JS IMG_8638

For this look I went for my 3/4 olive high-waisted pants from ASOS . These pants are perfection, love how they hug my body. A high waist is just what I need to show off my hourglass figure. I don’t have to deal with the usual gap at the back when I sit, and the built in belt is just perfect. I have been looking for pants like this for a very long time so when I saw them online I couldn’t resist buying them, and I’m hopeful they’ll come out in many colors so I can purchase them all!

JS IMG_8816

Since we can now finally enjoy the nice weather, I decided to wear my high waist pants with a sleeveless high collar shirt. This shirt goes well with almost anything and I can easily put a sweater or simple jacket over it, and I’m good to go.

JS IMG_8761

To complete my cute office chic look, I paired my outfit with leopard print pumps by Sam Edelman, and just like that I’m ready to handle business at work than enjoy a nice cocktail at a cute spot for happy hour.

Thank goodness the warm weather has finally arrived!  It’s finally time to store away the winter coats and boots and pull out the colourful clothing.

4F-3004_edited

I’ve purchased this royal blue skirt with net detail on the Eloquii site some time ago.  The netting detail is to die for and was seen on all of the runways.  From Proenza Schuler, Alexander Wang to Cushnie et Ochs netted clothing pieces are the thing for Spring.

4F-3024_edited

I paired my royal blue skirt with a seafoam blue netted top from Old Navy. I love the play of colours and it puts me right in the spring-time mood!  The netted skirt is a midi length on me and the waistband has an elasticized waist so its super-duper comfortable.  I completed my look by adding these striped pumps and this fun colourful necklace.

Trends. They come and go. While some are adamant about never following trends, I think they can be fun to partake in. While I wouldn’t break the bank for any trendy pieces, I like to incorporate them into my wardrobe every now and then.

DSC_3164_edited

The cold shoulder trend is all the rage right now, and I’m loving it. It was seen all over the runways from Proenza Schouler to Derek Lam. This is a subtle (and sexy!) way to show some skin this summer. Since my cold shoulder top is a crop top, I decided to pair it with high wasted pants. This way, my middle section isn’t Aaalllll out. Just a peak of skin just how I like it.

4F-3101_edited

I know that the post is supposed to be about the top but these pants, my tall sisters, are the truth. I’ve written about them before, but I still love them so very much! Fit on point, great color and, of course, the length is perfect! ZARA continues to impress me as I’ve spotted some pants with a 39″ inseam!!! These work perfectly for my long long gams. This is proof positive that we can’t always discount “regular” stores. And while the struggle is indeed quite real, sometimes, it’s worth just giving it a try.

4F-3084_edited

I couldn’t wait to put my winter jacket and boots away and transition into a lighter, more colorful wardrobe.  Since I’m always craving color, when I happened upon this colorful cape blazer I knew I had to have it. The search for this cape blazer actually started a few months ago when I first saw it on the Simplybe US and Simplybe UK websites. The only hiccup is that these 2 sites don’t ship to Canada. Well, since my middle name is “fighter” cause I never give up without a fight lol, when my American cousin said he was coming to visit us in Canada the light bulb went off in my head and I ask my good ol cuz to get it for me. Side note the blazer had gone down in price by 75% so I was even more eager to get it.
DSC_3229_edited

When I finally got the blazer I couldn’t stop looking at myself in the mirror, I loved it so much. The mix of colours in the stripes are a perfect combination.   This blazer is a big statement and a great addition to my spring and summer wardrobe.  The stripe pattern of my blazer reminds me of some of the pieces seen in Christian Siriano and Clover Canyon’s Spring and summer 2016 collections.

DSC_3264_edited

The blazer is by a company named Lavish Alice, and I must say, they make great pieces. I actually discovered them through ASOS, so now I will definitely be checking them out on a regular basis!

To keep the focus on my blazer I wore a simple black tank top, my black high-waisted pants and topped it all off with my blush pumps and I am ready for the warmer weather.

Spring is one of my most favourite times of the year. It’s like the build-up to the climax in a great movie; the delicious appetizer before the main course, or the beginning cords to that track you love to sing along to or dance to in the club– you catch my drift;-)

With spring comes some new trends, some timeless ones and sometimes those that are just making a revival! The spring trend I’m just loving right now is the low slung wide leg trouser. This trend calls to everything that is just me: low waist line, uber relaxed fit and looking effortlessly pulled together yet just a little boho!

DSC_3309_edited

Putting this look together was super simple. I started with a colour palette that I just love any time of year (i.e. grey), and slid into these wide leg trousers. The low slung look works so well for me since, more often than not, my trousers are a little big in the waist. This look means one less trip to the tailor!lol

4F-3352_edited

I then added a simple tank top and this oversized coat to complete the look. Then I moved on to accessories!!! I wanted to elevate this look with some bling, so I added this gorgeous necklace, kept the earrings simple, and added a large cuff. You can easily add a great colourful handbag to this look to give it some extra pop (and that is how you will see me when I rock this look in the streets of the 6ix:-)

And with that, I was ready to head out for drinks with the crew!

The Fab Four

ASOS For All

Grp Edited IMG_2708
ASOS: 4 letters which stand for As Seen On Screen and so much more! Indeed, ASOS responded to the increasing body image dissatisfaction in the UK – which is an issue faced everywhere really – by harnessing its influence among young fashion-lovers to promote healthy body image. They have funded and partnered with organizations such as The Diana Award which is an anti-bullying charity that works on raising young people’s self-esteem and body confidence; and also Beat, which offers a safe and supportive environment for discussion between those with an eating disorder. They even engaged with the UK government on this topic by participating on the UK All Party Parliamentary Group on Body Image (APPG) in early 2012. The group’s objective was to uncover ways to promote a healthier body image in the wider community.
How awesome is that! Representation for all is what Fab Four Fashion is all about. ASOS understands that fashion is for ALL bodies, shapes and sizes and they embody the phrase “Style Beyond Size!” to a tee! See how we decided to partake in their fashionable offerings.Grp Edited IMG_2776

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: I’m a sucker for a hot print. I know you all know this; It’s not news right? But did you also know that I have an obsession with the United Kingdom? You may be asking yourself what does that have to do with a hot print? Nothing really, but  it has a lot to do with many pieces in my wardrobe.LT Edited IMG_3750

I love British retailers!! They provide amazing clothing pieces for the masses and you will often find that their sizing is much more generous, whether it be for clothing or shoes. And ASOS is one of my all time favorite! Gail introduced me to them years ago, and I’ve been a faithful customer ever since!  Offering clothing in straight sizes as well as plus sizes and offering tall and petite options as well! They get that women come in all shapes and sizes.LT Edited IMG_3682

ASOS really does it like no other. Fashionable. Affordable. Classic. Trendy. Tall. Plus size. Curvy. Petite. We don’t all come in the same shapes and size and we all want hot clothing. The good folks at ASOS clearly understand this. I dream of the day when they provide a brick and mortar option, but until then, I will continue to endulge on the world wide web.

ND Edited IMG_4330

Many years ago, in my rookie online shopping days, I made the crucial mistake of ordering a garment thinking that the UK and US sizes were the same… Well they’re not! LOL. Don’t be a rookie Nancy, and consult the size chart! I have since ordered a number of pieces from them (including shoes big footed babes!!) and the fit is heavenly for this tall girl (remember this tall dress where my “4-inches-heels-wearing-5-foot-11-inches” self couldn’t even see my toes???).

ND IMG_4085

Playing around with trends is always a lot of fun. Personally, I like to incorporate trends in my wardrobe but always aim for two points: 1. will it fit with my current wardrobe and 2. if it’s just a fun piece that I have to have, I don’t want to break the bank. This top here fits the bill perfectly. It has just a hints of ruffle at the sleeves and the stripes are just classic.

I paired my top with this a simple faux leather skirt which has just the right strech to accentuate you “assets” and allow you to walk pefectly (if you’ve ever put on a too tight pencil skirt, you will understand this LOL). I finished my look with my new favorite floral pumps because, in my world, stripes and florals just yearn to be together!

Ask anybody who knows me and they will tell you that ASOS is my favorite online store. Why? Well, they understand me plain and simple. As a curvy woman, shopping at any regular store in the mall is difficult. I rarely find things that fit my body perfectly or they don’t have a wide selection of the stylish clothes that I love.

ASOS is my one stop shop and by that I mean they have a wide selection of clothing. Dresses, pants, shirts, jumpers you name it, they have it.  Two important elements with ASOS is that they understand that curvy and plus size women love stylish clothes and their designs are fashionable, current and affordable.JS reEdited IMG_3164

Another crucial element when ordering with ASOS, measure yourself and follow the size chart cause their sizes are in UK measurements, which are different than US size charts.  Once you know your measurement you’ll be fine when ordering.

For this post I decided to wear one of ASOS’ classics which is the wiggle dress. ASOS offers a variety of wiggle dresses, this is a simple classic dress that has a Jackie Kennedy feeling. This dress can be worn to work, for a wedding or any classy event, in other words this dress is a must in your wardrobe.JS Edited IMG_3210

What I love the most about this midi length dress, is the fact that the material is stretchy, it’s comfortable and fits me in the right place.
