Heating Things Up with Long Tall Sally

lt-edited-img_7447

lt-edited-img_7191

long tall sally truly created magic with their CURATD x LTS collection. I was more than ready to dive into so many of their pieces, but this boiler suit, along with the long sleeved sheer top gave me visions of sugar plums dancing in my head.

lt-edited-img_7308

Now, I love to rock my clothing pieces in unexpected ways when I can, and this outfit definitely went through the Leslie remix. Rather than rocking the boiler suit as a full jumpsuit, I decided to tie the sleeves at the waist and rock it with a top. Talk about adding more versatility to one garment.

lt-edited-img_7466

lt-edited-img_7447

This sheer top is the epitome of classy meets sexy! This top can be dressed up with a cute leather skirt or dressed more casually with, in my case, a hot boiler suit.

lt-edited-img_7432

lt-edited-img_7426

To complete this look, I wanted to add a little “bad-ass babe” to it, so I opted to add a khaki coloured bomber jacket, and some printed pumps. If you want to create a more casual look, you can totally exchange the pumps for some cute sneakers and you will look just as cute! I could have done 5 more posts on how to remix this boiler suit. It really is such a fantastic piece, and the best part is that it is actually long enough for my long limbs and it comes in a size 4 so it’s small enough for my slim frame! (I’m doing a little happy chair dance as I type:-)

lt-edited-img_7252

Thank you long tall sally!!!! This is definitely a good way to start off my holiday season!

Holiday Office Party Looks with Fab Four Fashion

grp-edited-img_7621

Tis the season of gingerbread, eggnog, men in red suits, and of course many, many parties. One of these holiday celebrations is that office holiday party. If you haven’t figured out what you plan to wear yet, never fear, the ladies of Fab Four Fashion are here! Check out the looks that they pulled together to set the office a-buzz!

grp-edited-img_7750

Judy’s Look

js-edited-img_8519

The holiday season is here and with that another office party is around the corner. Every year my work throws amazing glamorous, banquet hall parties and every year I need to bring it in style.

This year I went for simple, elegant and cute with a vibrant red jumper that I found at Ziza Boutique, located in Oakville, Ontario and they have an on-line site and can ship everywhere.
My curvy and plus sisters this one is for you and it’s also available in black!

js-edited-img_8909

This red jumper screams holiday jingle bells all the way, with a fitted bottom to accentuate my curves. I love the loose top portion which allows me to indulge in extra appetizers and drinks without feeling too snug lol.

js-edited-img_8858

Last but not least, the back of the jumper has an exposed zipper, which from the back gives you the illusion of it being 2 pieces.

My office party look wouldn’t be complete without a pair of leopard print pumps and a dazzling necklace.

js-edited-img_8535

Just like that I’ll be dancing the night away

Nancy’s Look

This dress channels my inner Julia Roberts in “Pretty Woman” post make-over of course!lol Not only did I choose this gorgeous designer dress because of the vibrant colour, but the fit was freaking phenomenal.

nd-edited-img_7801

First and foremost, we tall girls know that length is everything, and this dress hits me at the perfect spot to keep it cute and classy at that corporate holiday event. The colour is so in keeping with the season matching so perfectly with my boy St. Nick, LOL, and the fit and flare style accentuates my waist-line, creating more of an hourglass silhouette. Added to this long list of attributes is that it also has pockets (this frock rocks)!

nd-edited-img_7882

But ladies, we all know that the holiday season is one of the most expensive times of the year, so wouldn’t it be great to save a few bucks at this time of year and still make a splash at any holiday party? Well, I’ve got good news for you, you can rent this stunning designer dress at a fraction of the cost. Fitzroy Boutique’s got you covered!

nd-edited-img_8146

Accessorizing this look was veritable child’s play; I rocked these to die for high heeled silver sandals and a fun, festive clutch. The requisite bling was then added and I  was ready to work the room at that office holiday event!

It’s the most wonderful time of the year!  The holidays are upon us which means attending lots of holiday parties – namely work parties.

gt-edited-img_9034

gt-edited-img_9078

This year I decided to remix my black business suit and added these faux fur leather front paneled pants.  I’ve feature both the pants and the jacket before.  I love when clothing in my wardrobe can do double duty!!

I first featured this peplum jacket in this post we did called Les Poupounes de Luxes which offers clothing for women of ALL SIZES! 3 cheers for companies that recognize and offer clothing for all women!  I love the of the style jacket as the flirty peplum  conceals any parts of your body that one might not be crazy about while cinching me in at my waist.

I paired this gem of a jacket with these faux leather front paneled pants that are super comfy and ultra chic and I featured them here on the blog in the post we did called Suzy Shier.  The pants are on pull on and feature a banded waist.  They also have small angled zips on the front.

gt-edited-img_9061

To spice this look up further I added hot pink pumps and this blinged out necktie necklace!

lt-edited-img_8268

I said it on Cityline and I’ll say it again; my office holiday party look is all about sticking to the 3 c’s: cute, conservative and classy. That holiday party is just not the place to show off Conchita and Rosita (as my friends lovingly calls her boobs!lol). Nor is it time to rock that sexy little number you wore to the club last week that showed off that mole on your thigh! We wanna show your colleagues that you got style and class whether it be in the boardroom or on the dance-floor!

lt-edited-img_8208

I simply LOVE this dress I picked up at Ziza Boutique. The colour is what first caught my eye and the style made me have to have it! It has the perfect amount of funky with the cool frill detail and the classic fit is perfect to highlight my figure.

lt-edited-img_8305

Now, let me tell you about these shoes!!!! Shoes can make or break a party night right? If your feet hurt, you will become a party pooper. These gorgeous blue babies, again from Ziza Boutique, made my breath catch in my throat when I first laid eyes on them! I tried to play it cool, but the girls could tell, it was love at first sight!

lt-edited-img_8392

I kept my accessories simple, yet festive, with a pair of sparkly earrings and bracelet, and of course some jewels for my fingers!

This look will definitely leave a positive lasting impression at any office holiday event!

The Fab Four

Fall for Eshakti Part 2

grp-edited-img_2833

The ladies of Fab Four Fashion are back with part 2 of their ode to eShakti!

grp-edited-img_2825

Leslie’s Look

eShakti did  it again!  This bronze coloured tule skirt made my heart go pitter-pat when I saw it.  I immediately began having visions of myself as a bronze goddess dressed top to toe in shades of bronze and a lot of bling!

lt-img_2302

The starting point for this look was this beautiful skirt.  eShakti offers many options when customizing their pieces and I knew I wanted this skirt to hit me just above my ankle for a dramatic effect. But for this skirt, there was no option to make it ankle. Never fear, as usual I had a “Little Leslie Hack” to get around that! When customizing my order, I simply entered my height as 6ft 4in and voila, I had a skirt that hit me just above my ankle.

lt-img_2400

I wanted to rock a tone on tone on tone look, so I decided to add some sparkle with this gorgeous sequin relaxed fit blazer that I belted at the waist and a shiny bronze bodysuit.

lt-img_2305

Since I wanted glam from top to toe, I just had to make sure my feet weren’t forgotten in the mix! I opted to wear these super cute high heeled sandals with multi-coloured pom-poms that are just so fun and flirty (I finally truly understand what that means! lol)

And with that, I was ready for a special evening out on the town or an early holiday party!

Judy’s Look

js-img_2170

For my second eShakti look, I was inspired by curvy actress Christina Hendricks on Mad Men. I saw this dress on eShakti.com and I had to have it. This dress embody secretary femme fatale ready to take over the office LOL and I love it.

js-img_2151

This black and cream plaid dress is formed fitted, ¾ sleeves and knee length and I chose to get it customized and it came out perfectly. Even though there is not much stretch in the material, I don’t feel too snug in the hip area.

js-img_2176

This dress is great for work and boardroom meetings as well as after work happy hour drinks with the girls. All you have to do is accessorise the way you want and it’s a great starting point for a killer outfit.

To complete my Madmen look I paired this dress with my camel coat and wine coloured pumps and clutch.

js-img_2231

Nancy’s Look

nd-img_2743

eShakti has me fall ready with this great window pane fit and flare dress. The classic print is what first caught my eye. Although I could have changed the neckline, sleeve type and length, I loved the way that it was shown with the round neck, short sleeves and knee length.

nd-img_2738

nd-img_2491

What I like most about this dress is that it’s a great transitional piece, and it works great for my 9-5. Here I’ve paired it with stockings, booties and a moto jacket, but it would work just as well with a white shirt underneath and some sexy pumps.

nd-img_2781

Dress: eShakti // Jacket: Topshop // Booties: BCBG (old); similar here

Plus size babes, eShakti has you covered as you can enter your measurements on the eShakti website and obtain a made to measure dress. You can also pair your dress with this jacket.

Gail’s Look

With this eShakti dress, called Alexandra, I was going for some vintage glamour.  I really like the mix of the two textures that make up the dress.  The fitted bodice is a cotton/spandex jersey knit while the skirt consists of two layers of sheer tulle plus a black lining for extra coverage.

gt-edited-img_2509

gt-edited-img_2627

The original style of the dress had a split notch neckline but I chose to switch things up a bit by going for a deep v.  In fact, with this particular dress there are 16 additional necklines, 7 sleeve types and 6 different skirt lengths to choose from so the possibilities are endless!

gt-edited-img_2617

So, to up the glamour quotient further, I added this gray wrap style coat with a blinged out broach.  I completed my look by adding sparkly yet delicate earrings and silver pumps.

gt-edited-img_2539

That Night Magic

lt-edited-img_4470

lt-edited-img_4340

There has always been something about nighttime that felt magical to me ever since I was a kid. That may be the cause of too many bedtime stores (which were so awesome) in which toys came to life once children were asleep and that bump in the night was something other than Dad hitting his knee on the way to the bathroom! LOL But however I look at it, there is something to be said for that zing of excitement and spine tingling thrill that the night can bring!

lt-edited-img_4470

First let me tell you all, this is NOT a sponsored post. H&M has not yet decided that this girl (i.e. moi) needs to be representing their brand, and quite frankly, they don’t even know I exist! LOL But I have to big them up for their last Studio collection.

lt-edited-img_4432

I accidently on purpose wandered into the store on Bloor street here in the 6ix only to discover that it was the pre-launch viewing of the, then new, Studio collection. The store was open to all, however The Kit magazine was specially invited to this event. So no, I don’t work for The Kit mag, but you would never have known! I was in there trying on stuff like I was specially invited too! LOL

lt-edited-img_5274

My loot consisted of these GORGEOUS red wide leg trousers that are so spectacular that I want to wear them everywhere; and this stunning double breasted, wide collar black coat.

So, the truth about these pants ladies is that they are short. I stand at 5ft 9in and I had to let out the entire hem and I still had to rummage through my wardrobe to find short enough heels to rock this look with. I could have easily worn flats. H&M, PLEASE lengthen those pant hemlines!

Slim ladies out there, I actually went down a size in these pants, primarily because they did not have my size in the store, but the smaller size fit perfectly.

lt-edited-img_5211-1

I always have a bit of a love hate relationship with black and red. Black because I feel like the colour drags me down. Yes, it’s elegant, and yes I wear it, but I speckle it through my wardrobe rather than making it a mainstay. Red, there are so many shades that finding the right one for me  can be challenging. But this shade jumped out at me and I just knew it was the perfect one.

lt-edited-img_5288

Since I was already shopping in H&M, I figured, I might as well complete the look there. I scooped up this cute cropped red ribbed sweater and called it a night!

lt-edited-img_4289

To accessorize this look, I added bold silver earrings, a large ring and this multi-coloured purse I just happened to find in my sister’s closet (Thanks Gail).

lt-edited-img_5316

And with that, I’m off to see what the night will bring!

Sequined Out

nd IMG_6586

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! It’s time for fur and sparkles and sequins! A quick stroll through any mall will solidify this fact – and I’m here for it all. Ladies, the holidays are at our door steps and I know we’re already thinking about all the outfits we will need to don to make this festive season sizzle. Therefore, I bring to you: Sequined Out!

nd IMG_6522

This sequin number was gifted by my dear cousin and fellow Fab Four, the one and only, Judy. She actually ordered it for herself but the sizing on this dress was way off. So she kindly passed it over to me. Thanks Hun *kissy face* As the saying goes: One (wo)man’s trash is another’s treasure. Oh and what a treasure this is!

nd IMG_6409

I love this short little sassy number. Sequins make everything so festive and always party ready. Staying true to myself, I had to put my own spin on it: I’m actually wearing this dress backward. I would definitely wear the dress with the V-neck in front but I prefer a little back exposure. It adds a touch of class to the look. And since my gams are on full exposure, I appreciate the extra coverage that the top portion offers.

nd IMG_6719

Speaking of exposing the gams, tall girls, here is benefit number 6,093,423 to our statuesque frame! This sort of dress works well for us because it’s very forgiving: the 3/4 sleeves are a God sent as you don’t need to worry about whether or not they will reach your wrist. So if your “neighbourhood” specialized tall shop is too far or you don’t have the time to order something online (because that’s where a lot of the hot tall fashion finds are), you might strike gold with a dress such as this which can be found in plenty of “regular” stores – especially around this time of year.

nd IMG_6548

I finished off my look with some strappy sandals and a few silver accessories. And now, break out the champagne, mama is ready to paint the town red!

nd IMG_6489

Dress: gifted (Thanks Judy!); similar here // Sandals: Nine West

And I know that my plus size bombshell will kill in this sequined number or that one.

Tall girls everywhere, this dress needs no introduction. This baby is from the amazing TTYA x long tall sally AW2015 collection. The entire collection is amazing, but this dress took my breath away as soon as I laid eyes on it!

IMG_4488-Edited-ND-AB

The fit of this dress is aaaamazing! I went with a size smaller: I love how it sucks everything in and keeps the girls where they need to be! The neckline – a very deep V – reveals just the right amount of sexiness. If you need support for the girls, you will need a strapless U plunge bra similar to this one here. In addition, I don’t even need to mention the sheer sleeves that hit you where the sleeves need to hit!

IMG_4413 Edited ND AB

I’m so thankful for all the ladies behind Taller Than Your Average and Long Tall Sally for hooking us up with fashionable pieces that fit our longer limbs! These pieces are elegant and most importantly expertly made. As Beyonce said, every woman needs a Freakum dress – clearly, I have found mine.

Leslie’s Look

Elegant, sophisticated, sexy, sultry, these are all apt descriptions of what an all black outfit can do for the wearer. Now, I’m not one who typically dresses in all black, but sometimes you just can’t beat a sexy black dress or a black on black on black outfit to say I’m sexy, I’m cool, effortlessly pulled together and incredibly chic.

IMG_4599 Edited Leslie AB

My all black look was all about combining textures and materials to create one funky outfit. The starting point was this funky sweater with its textured lace detail at the front. I was immediately drawn to this piece when I saw it knowing that it would be a great piece to add a bit of funk to an otherwise simple look.

IMG_4651 Edited Leslie AB

But why stop there? I wanted to continue adding different textured pieces together by pairing this midi-length faux leather skirt to the look. Not only does this skirt accentuate my God given height, but faux leather pieces are a huge trend right now that I’m happy to dive into so a double  bonus for me!

IMG_4509 Edited Leslie AB

Lastly, to  complete the look, I added these studded black pumps  (more texture), funky mismatched earrings and this leopard print envelope clutch. All black everything, I can definitely get down with this!

Ain’t nothing like an all black outfit my friends.  I mean come on black is beautiful as they say! I’m not going to lie, if it were up to me, I’d wear black all day, every day. LOL

IMG_4986 Edited GT AB

Its easy peasy because black goes with everything!  As my friends can confirm my uniform used to be (and sometimes I still do ssshhhh don’t tell anybody) black pants and a top.  I wore this “uniform” for work or a night out with the girls.

So for this look I went to my closet and pulled out this gorgeous top and paired it with a pencil skirt with flounce hem.  I love the “flirty-ness” of the skirt.  I feel like it adds a daintyness that counter acts the more edginess of the moto jacket.

I love the all black look, if well done, it can be very classy and chic. You will often catch me wearing an all-black outfit in the fall and winter time.

IMG_4782 Edited Judy AB

In order to achieve the perfect all black ensemble I often shop for good quality black pieces that I can remix together. This look is the perfect example. I remixed this lacy black top that I wore earlier this year in one of our first blog post called  (LBD four ways). For the “LBD” post, I wore said blouse with my black faux leather skirt that I wore in our  (Fall Look Book Part 3) post to create my look.

Sometimes going with the simplest outfit and remixing the pieces from your own wardrobe can be the best way to go, and your bank account will thank you!

n - IMG_6673

There are always a number of things to consider when choosing the perfect wedding outfit, but the setting is probably the most important. For this wedding look, I opted for a long, maxi dress. But long does NOT mean boring! The satin finish of this dress brings out the elegance while the pockets and print make it youthful and fun. The deep V ensures that a dash of sexy is provided!

I got this fantastic Taessa Chorny dress many years ago and it continues to be one of my favorites. Not only is the dress gorgeous, but Taessa is also a darling and great to work with. This is a timeless dress that comes out to play once in a while – I’d wear it monthly if you let me… LOL! I let the dress do all the talking and kept my accessories on the “tame” side…  Just a stack of gold bangles and some gold earrings and I am good to go!

I love the wedding season even if it means I’m becoming  the 27 dresses girl!  When I’m not part of the bridal party I just love dressing up for a wedding. Over the years I was fortunate enough to witness so many family members or friends getting married and just getting ready for such a beautiful event gets me all giddy.  For a girlie girl like me I love to keep it classy and chic for the ceremony, then glam it up at night for the reception.

j - IMG_7942

This year again I’m fortunate and blessed to be invited to 4 different types of weddings. Today for my wedding flow post I’m wearing a dress that I would wear for a classy intimate wedding near a winery. I was inspired to create a vineyard meets Ascot Race day look.  I’ve always loved seeing women all dressed up with their fascinator hats and white gloves.

j - IMG_8471

I wore my A-line silky polka dot black and white dress which I bought a few moons ago at H&M.  This dress is simple yet elegant all at the same time. I added my black fascinator to elevate my look and I wore my cute satin red pumps. Of course I completed my look by adding my favorite pearl necklace and RiRi Woo lipstick by MAC.  Here I come: Judy the belle of the ball.

Leslie’s Look

To quote Beyoncé: “all the single ladies, all the single ladies…” Have you been invited to a friend’s wedding at which they’ve promised to introduce you to that wonderful friend they supposedly have that you’ve just never happened to have met? Or that cousin coming in town from (fill in the blank) that would just be perfect for you? In that case, I say you need to up the sexy factor of that wedding reception outfit!

l - IMG_7076

For the wedding ceremony, if it is separate and especially if it’s being conducted in a house of worship, be it a church, synagogue, mosque, I know you know what I mean, I would recommend choosing an outfit that is more on the conservative side. HOWEVER, the wedding reception is code for “PARTY”! An excellent excuse to be glammed up with a touch of sexy just in case that “friend of a friend” or that elusive cousin turns out to be a hottie!

LT WEdding - IMG_7695

So for my wedding reception look I went for an elegant silver sequin above the knee dress. The cap sleeve and looser fit keep it from being club gear and the silver sequins help you to light up the room! The pièce de résistance though is the dramatic back. Yes ladies, the daring open back of this dress is the epitome of sexy.  It takes the dress from a simple shift style to va-va-voom!

l - IMG_3524

Since this dress is a show stopper, I kept the accessories a bit more on the quiet side with a simple bracelet and  stylish earrings. I brought in a tiny bit of funky with these multi-coloured peep toe pumps and a not quite tamed up-do!

And just like that I’m ready to raise a glass in celebration to the bride and groom and drink a toast to new “friends” and “elusive cousins”!:-)
