Here we go again, it’s that time of year, fall fashion week. That wonderful time when we get to dress up and express ourselves through fashion. It’s also the season when designers show us the greatness we can look forward to for spring 2016. Last year, the ladies of Fab Four Fashion were the rookies at fashion week; but this year, the quartet have come back with a vengeance to show the fashion world what they are working with.
You be the judge. From fabulous backless jumpers and capes, to timeless leather jackets and prints there is so much for your eyes to see!
One thing’s for sure, Fab Four Fashion is ready to “Rip the Runway“!
Toronto Fashion Week! Christmas in October for the fashion obsessed who flock to see the gorgeous clothing presented on catwalks with care in the hopes of catching a glimpse of what will be hot in the New Year! The flashes of cameras are like twinkling lights on trees and parties abound with the elite and good cheer!
I guess it’s needless to say that I’m quite excited about the coming week and all the delights there will be to enjoy. But before we could head off to the shows we first had to make sure to pull out our fashion week finery and indulge in this time when you can truly dress to show off your inner diva! And that is exactly what I did!
I wanted to go with a monochromatic palette for my look. A blending of vintage, classics and glam! The hallmark of my look was this gorgeous vintage leather and suede fur collared coat that I “borrowed” from my mom’s closet! Yes, you read correctly, my MOM’s closet. This coat is older than I am but still perfectly in line with current fashion trends!
With this I decided to rock this high-low full satin skirt that I just love because it adds a level of glam due in large part to the material (and the tutu I’m wearing underneath for added fullness) and lens to the illusion of my having a curvier silhouette.
I wanted to dress down the rest of the look so I paired this satin skirt with a simple crew neck long sleeved sweater and black and blue pumps. The accessories were extremely simple; I only wore these silver dangly earrings and that’s it. I felt that the coat and skirt said it all. No need for anything else!
This look combines a bit of that old world Hollywood glam in the fur collared coat and satin skirt with the simplicity of a simple sweater and a monochrome colour pallet. Now, I’m ready to see all the lights, drink in the electric atmosphere and carol along to the cheers of the crowds in only the way one can at this special time of year!

Ah fashion week, one of the more glamourous times of the year when fashion’s glitterati descend on David Pecault Square to peek into the fashion future to see what we will all be wearing come spring.
I just love fashion week! Of course attending the shows is always exciting, but for me the best part is the people watching! Fashion week and fashion in general is so fun because one gets the opportunity to step out of one’s safe little box and really express oneself unabashedly!
With that in mind my fashion outfit centered on this white cape jacket. This jacket, quite frankly, is the jacket of my whole life! When I laid eyes on it on the Charlotte Russe website I just knew I had to have it.
The second piece of my fashion week outfit puzzle was this graphic print skirt. Graphic prints, especially in black and white, figured heavily in Valentino’s Fall 2015 Ready to Wear collection (see here) so I definitely wanted to incorporate that into my look because as I’ve mentioned before, I’m a sucker for black & white combinations.
The other crucial piece to my fashion puzzle are these over the knee boots. Finding boots that can accommodate my “shapely” calves used to be such a struggle but no more! I spotted these bad boys on the Torrid website and snapped them up real quick. I especially love the studs found on the heels.
To round out my look I added a little frosting around my neck and I’m all set to take in the spectacle that is Toronto Fashion Week!

I love going to fashion week. Last year was my first time attending the shows and I was impressed with the amount of flare, style and daring fashion on display. I met several lovely “fashionisters” and “fashionistas” as well, which was a great added bonus to viewing the fantastic pieces on the main stage! When I went last March, my look had more of a classy and simple feel. This year, I had to be true to myself and give you a bit more than simple! LOL
I went for a look that could transition well from a fashion show to a sexy fashion party. I wore this beautiful printed skirt with a cool black pleated border on one side adding an extra edge to the skirt. You probably already know by now that I have a soft spot for printed pieces.
To cap off my look I elected to wear a simple black crop top because I didn’t want to draw the attention away from the skirt. I also just love the combo of a sexy printed skirt with a crop top and heels. To me, this is an easy, classy, sexy look that works all the time and you can always mix and match these pieces with other elements in your wardrobe.
My look wouldn’t be complete if I didn’t accessorize and glamorize with cool jewellery and a sexy clutch. I paired my outfit with my vintage black beaded clutch courtesy of my mom (thanks mama) and my black suede pumps with gold stone accents. I wore a beautiful stone necklace which elevates my overall look and of course my camel-coloured coat cause let’s be real, it’s almost winter up in here!LOL.

It’s Fashion Week y’all! Twice a year, fashion lovers come to show up and show out and that is precisely what I was going for! While I love to see what’s on the runway, I equally enjoy seeing the street styles. Not only is there tons of inspiration, it’s always interesting to try to figure out people’s personalities based on their sartorial choices!
Based on that, I had to make this outfit 100% me!! Numero uno, them shoes! Oh these shoes are just the cutest cutest things! Awesome color – check! Super comfortable – check! Comes with pom poms!! Come on!! The satin finish brings the right touch of class to these pointy toed flats. The good folks at ASOS are winners for that one.
I know, I know, I sound like a broken record, but backless anything automatically gets my heart beating a little faster LOL. Add that to my favourite piece of clothing – which is a jumper AND a cape?!!??! Oh it’s a WRAP! I accessorized my jumper with very little – a dainty body chain to glam up my exposed back, some cute dangly earrings, all the gold bracelets I could lay my hands on LOL and, my fave: mommy’s clutch.
I especially love this jumpsuit because it’s flirty and sexy and just so much fun! The movement you get from that baby is the ultimate best. My girls will attest to the amount of twirling that happened during the day… LOL. It’s Gone with the WIND fabulous. Now if I could just get Beyonce to hook me up with her wind machine, my life would officially be complete!
