Not only is Wilsons Leather known for crafting quality leather jackets and accessories but they also offer stylish faux fur wonders like this beauty I’m wearing.

gt-edited-img_1844

gt-edited-img_1818

I fell in love with this faux fur vest on sight.  It’s a 3/4 length beauty with pockets and a faux leather belt perfect for cinching in my waist or leaving it tied in the back as I did.

This vest would also make for a great layering piece over a jacket or coat!  I love my when clothing options come with built in versatility!

gt-edited-img_1764

I paired this faux fur wonder with a dotted sheer turtleneck that fits like a glove.

gt-edited-img_1878

I completed my look with gold accessories and polka dot pumps.

Don’t be fooled by the furs that I got…I’m still I’m still Leslie from the block!! LOL Don’t be fooled into thinking that Wilson’s Leather only does leather goods. They are about that fur/faux fur life as well! This GORGEOUS ecru coloured poncho  called to me from cyber space  and I immediately knew that I had a winner!

lt-edited-img_3254

This look called to my inner Diana Ross! I love the winter white as  it just oozes luxury and wearing the poncho as a top, exposing one shoulder, adds a little sexiness to the overall look.

lt-edited-img_3286

I love mixing textures, so paring my poncho with a faux leather, midi pencil skirt seemed perfectly apropos.

To accessorize my look, I just had to add in some gold accents. These dangly tassel earings and my “Wonder Woman cuff of power” took this look to the next level! Of course it wouldn’t be me if I didn’t add a little print which came in the form of these hot leopard print pumps.

So watch out Diana, I’m coming to turn you “up-side-down”! (just kidding, I LOVE Diana Ross!!!)

Last year I had a blast working with Wilson’s Leather, as I loved the biker leather jacket I got from them. This year we had the chance to work with them again, but this time around I opted for a more fitted leather coat.

js-edited-img_2127

What I love about this coat is that it fits me very well. There are 2 scuba insert panels on each side that make it more fitted to my body, and most importantly it doesn’t feel snug when I zip it all the way up.

js-edited-img_1982

This coat is perfect for the beginning of fall or early spring, and it’s a great addition to my wardrobe. The coat is very thin and soft so you don’t feel bulky in it.

For this look I went with a vibrant printed chevron dress, with a classic pair of mustard pumps and my Wilson’s Leather coat.

While Wilson Leather doesn’t yet provide tall options (notice how I said ‘yet’? hint hint LOL), they do provide some very fashionable offerings. With that said, I – lady with the long limbs – chose this jacket for very specific reasons. Other than this jacket being simply gorgeous, I chose it because the sleeves did not have a zipper on the sleeve. Therefore, I was able to have my tailor let the hem down as much as possible such that the sleeve length work!

nd-edited-img_3041The other option I have is to extend the length on the sleeves. If you go digging in the crates, you will find a post here where I transformed an old dress into a brand new one by adding a leather band. I will repeat this by visiting my friends at Perfect Leather Goods to find the perfect fitting piece of leather to make the sleeves as long as I want to.

nd-edited-img_3000The color is rich, the basket weave pattern is cool, the wide collar, the slim fit need I say more?

I completed my look with some printed pants, a white asymmetric tube top and some orange pumps for a pop of color. This outfit will have me looking fly at my next brunch with the ladies!

JU IMG_0075

When Wilsons Leather agreed to do a collabo with Fab Four Fashion I was more than ecstatic, I couldn’t believe it! I had been perusing through their website ever since Gail introduced us to them. Let me tell you, they have a great selection of leather, faux leather, suede and faux fur coats. Most importantly, they understand that straight size and plus size women alike love to splurge on fine leather pieces.

When perusing the sight one day my eyes were immediately drawn to this awesome moto style jacket; the type of jacket that makes you want to go out and buy a motorcycle.  I must admit that I was a bit skeptical about getting this particular jacket.  My main concern being fit and the ever-present question: will I be able to zip it up completely without looking all trapped in it, and will it look too big on me. Before ordering I made sure to refer to the size guide, and even went so far as to have a quick chat with a lovely agent via the live chat feature on their website.

JU IMG_0169

Well imagine my delight and surprise when I received the jacket and it fit me perfectly. I am able to zip it up completely and I don’t feel imprisoned in it. When I read the comments left on the Wilsons Leather site regarding this jacket some people stated that the jacket was a bit heavy with the lining. Yes, I would agree with that statement, but, chile, I just took out the lining inside and I got my life! LOL   The quality of the genuine leather is astonishing, and I was quite impressed with all the details of the jacket. Allow me to highlight a few that I love most:

1-   I just love the silver zippers all over the jacket. On each side at the bottom you will noticed that there are leather cords that lace up, so if you want the jacket to be more cinched to your waist you can tie the leather cords more  tightly.

2 –   There is a built-in leather belt at the bottom of the jacket that gives it an “I’m bad and I know it” kind of look.

3 –   If you love pockets well you will certainly be pleased. I have never owned a jacket with so many pockets, it’s like a secret hideaway jacket! Every time I look at it I discover another pocket!

JU IMG_0187

For this look, I wanted to go for a Madonna circa 1980’s “Papa Don’t Preach” style!LOL I wore my tutu skirt with a simple white tank top, added a funky silver necklace and some bracelets. The finishing touch was my snakeskin black and blue Betsey Johnson pumps.

JU IMG_0213

I’m ready to be a rider!LOL  Mind you, I have been saying that I want to get my motorcycle  license, maybe now that I have the perfect leather coat I will go ahead and get it. Come on now, I know you guys can picture me looking all cute on my sexy sporty motorcycle with my hot leather jacket!

Nancy’s Look

This week’s post is near and dear to my heart. Why? Because this is how you will catch me looking 90% of the time. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all about getting dolled up and like to play with various silhouettes and pieces, but jeans, a tee and a leather jackets? That’s definitely my go to. As a mom on the go, this “uniform” is the best way to look polished while being super comfortable.

nd IMG_0282

This jacket here stole my heart as soon as I saw it. The good folks over at La Marque are quite ingenious: there are discreet hooks on the jacket’s lapel which allow you to wear it in a couple of different ways. You can wear it closed for a cowl neck look. You can hook it on one side only and of course, you can never go wrong with simply leaving it open. The light weight genuine leather allows for these variations while still keeping the comfort level on high! The asymmetric hem guarantees an interesting look regardless of how you choose to wear it.

nd IMG_0254

Tall girls, let’s talk for a second. While I love everything about this jacket, we have to be creative when it comes to the sleeve length. The angled cuff sleeves are a bit on the short side for us. There is a knit sleeve underside with tons of stretch which allows you to easily push up the sleeves for a nice laid back look (disclaimer: even if the sleeve length was the right length, I would probably push up the sleeves anyway LOL. I just love that look better).

nd IMG_0332

I wanted to make the look casual chic; therefore, I paired my jacket with gray jeggings and a tee with blue pumps to kick things up a notch. Since this jacket has a loose fit with a fun cascading neckline, it can easily be paired with a killer pencil skirt and would look just as awesome with some hot high waisted trousers.  So all in all, this is a great piece that can net you a ton of wears.

You thought Wilsons Leather only did leather goods didn’t cha? Well think again baby! Allow me to introduce you to my alter ego; I call her Luela Deville. She likes long walks in Yorkville (the Toronto equivalent to New York’s Fifth Avenue); pink champagne with dinner and a little soulful house music just because she likes a hot beat! But more importantly, she loves anything that speaks of luxury and this coat courtesy of Wilsons Leather fits the bill!

LT IMG_7028

Styled with your favourite distressed jeans or glam rock leather, this coat will bring out the rock star in anyone. I simply LOVE anything in a leopard print, so when I happened across this coat on the Wilsons Leather site my heart skipped a beat! This coat is the embodiment of my love of retro styles from the silver screen classics era and my fever for the flavah of a leopard print! The relaxed, boxy modish design speaks to the diva in me and can easily take a look from simple jeans and a tee to edgy, glam rock! The faux fur feels so soft and the three –quarter sleeves lends to that vintage vibe.

LT IMG_6951

For this look, I wanted this gorgeous coat to take centre stage. I opted to pair it with all black everything. A simple black turtleneck sweater and faux leather shorts formed the foundation, with my thigh-high suede over the knee boots and bing-bam-boom, I was ready for my Rolling Stone Magazine interview!

I wanted to be funky with the accessories, so I went for these two black and gold necklaces that add some visual interest to the black turtleneck. Ladies and gents, Luella Deville is in the house and ready to rock and roll!

Born to be wwwwwiiiillllllddddd….that’s the song that was running through my head when I laid eyes on this Wilsons Leather moto jacket.  I felt like a femme fatale about to jump on my Harley Davidson and head out on the open road.

GT IMG_7153

Wilsons Leather is not a new company to me.  I first purchased one of their jackets and wore it in our Fall Lookbook 2 looks seen here and loved that they offered jackets for straight and plus sizes-something that Fab Four Fashion is all about….fashion democracy!

GT IMG_7084

This gorgeous leather jacket is just beyond gorgeous.  The jacket is made of Milwaukee leather with croc embossed accents.  It’s got a tonne of pockets so you can stash away your things and a handy dandy zip out liner.

What I love most about this jacket is you can dress it up or down.  For this look I was going for a cover of Rolling Stones magazine – glam rock look (note the theme in this post…Rolling Stone magazine we want an interview son LOL)!  I also wanted to play with the idea of masculine / feminine in this look as well.

Fab4Fashion

I paired this centre zip moto jacket with a lace top and a crop top underneath.  This is where I married the masculine edginess of the jacket with the soft femininity and sexiness of the lace top.

GT IMG_7196

To continue playing on this masculine-feminine theme I wore acid wash skinny jeans to further up the sexiness quotient.  Now if I wanted to dress up this hot little jacket I would swap out the lace top and jeans and go for a hot bodycon dress and heels! Oh chile, the world would not be ready!

Leslie’s Look

I am so feeling the 70s as some of you may recall from the post I did on this awesome trend seen here!! I love the muted colours the funky prints and of course the mega mini’s. This is one of the trends I was more than eager to jump into for our Fab Four fall foray into this decades modern day inspirations.

IMG_0398 Edited Leslie

This dress speaks to me on so many levels. The mod-ish lines, the muted colours and print and, of course, the mega mini lenth that shows off my gams to perfection are all elements that drew me to this piece! I think every woman should know how to incorporate just the right amount of sexy into a look. Sometimes it’s wearing something figure hugging, sometimes showing a little decolletage, sometimes showing a little (or not so little), leg. I like trying to go for one of these characteristics in each outfit I put together, rather than incorporating them all into one look, and as you can see, my  legs got to take top billing for this look!

IMG_0475 Edited Leslie

To keep me warm on those cooler fall days, I paird this dress with one of my trusty sleeveless coats in a muted colour. It lends an effortless elegant yet relaxed feel to this look that I just love and adds a layer of warmth since, I gotta be real,  I am always cold!LOL  This piece is also great, since it can easily be remixed with so many other pieces in my wardrobe which is something I’m always looking for.

IMG_0412 Edited Leslie

Ladies, let me tell you, if there is only one thing you decide to really invest in this season, let it be a great neutral coloured, knee high boot! I have had these boots which I simply ADORE since 2000! You indeed read correctly; I bought them in 2000! Yes, ladies, I’ve had them for 15 years and am still rocking them! Now, admittedly, I don’t wear them every day and have taken good care of them, but talk about getting a tremendous return on investment! The colour is neutral enough to go with just about everything, and from one fall/winter season to the next, they continue to be a wardrobe staple!

So someone grab the record player…or should it be an eight-track player…and let’s get our 70’s groove on baby!!!!

70s looks dominated the runways for fall and I can certainly understand why.  Think Bianca Jagger’s cool white pants suit or Donna Summer’s sexy sequined outfits – now imagine these looks revamped for today’s sensibilities and you’ve got magic!

IMG_0714 Edited GT

I went for a bold graphic striped print in the form of this dress as seen in so many runway shows for fall.  I just love the pattern and colour combination.  This dress is the ultimate in comfort and flows beautifully over my curves.  I paired this sleeveless dress with this faux leather jacket which works for the unpredictable weather found in fall.  In one day it can go from sunny and blue skies to over cast and breezy.

Judy’s Look

IMG_0564 Edited Judy

I‘ve always been a fan of 70’s trends, so it’s quite fitting that we decided to do a post about this era.  My 70s look is inspired by the hit show Charlie’s Angels. I wore my long sleeved dress with a tie-neck collar, and paired it with a faux fur vest to give a little extra oomph to my look.

IMG_0654 Edited Judy

I scored this dress two seasons ago at Suzy Shier at a great price. This dress has a 70’s inspired graphic pattern with colours like burnt orange, black and brown. To complete my look I wore my over the knee leather boots. I got these fabulous boots from Target last year from the Altuzzarra collection. Big feet women of the world, I know you understand me when I say the struggle is real, so when you find your shoe size on the shelf trust and believe you jump on it. LOL That was my story, I saw the last pair of  size 11 boots on the shelf and I pounced on them so fast I didn’t even look at the price tag.

IMG_0516 Edited Judy

Sadly, Target closed its doors a few months ago here in Canada, however I’m glad I was able to score these fabulous boots while they were here.

My look wouldn’t be complete without my Twiggy inspired sunglasses ( a gift from my little sister) and my signature red lipstick.

Nancy’s Look

¨I’m Foxy Cleopatra, and I’m a WHOLE lot of woman!¨ This single sentence takes me to a time when everything was grooovy! LOL The 70s comes with a slew of cult classics, timeless music and fashion that keeps on giving. I love how fashion from the 70s keeps on reappearing in different forms. This fall is no exception.

IMG_0942 Edited Nancy

For me, what’s most important is to prevent these blasts from the past from being too ¨costumey¨. What I mean by that is that, while the inspiration can clearly be seen, current cuts are a must. This is why I absolutely love this skirt. Pencil skirts are always a must and are flattering on all body types. The 70s influence came in the form of the stripes and the front slit. The colour combination is what actually first drew me to the skirt.

IMG_0841 Edited Nancy

I paired my skirt with a black ¨wrap top¨. I used quotations here because this, ¨top¨ is actually a draped open front cardigan that I am wearing as a top. Do we notice a trend here? Always staying to true to my ‘clothes-remixing’ self!

IMG_0833 Edited Nancy

The skirt is definitely the star of the outfit for me, however, these boots do get an honourable mention! I got them many moons ago at Long Tall Sally. I eyed them for what seemed like an eternity and bought them as soon as they were on sale (Shout out to Angelica, the most awesome LTS saleslady ever who kept her finger on the price pulse along with me!!!). They are chic and comfortable. What else could I ask for!

Even More eShakti Day and Night looks

Eshakti polyvore feature image

It’s Friday so its another edition of Fab Four Faves!  This week, we’re doing something slightly different. To close our eShakti takeover week, each lady will show you how they would style an article of clothing from eShakti.com!

Nancy’s Inspiration Board

2. Stiped shirt: J. Crew

3. Hoop earrings: Michael Kors

My daytime look was 100% inspired by this Stella Jean look which I simply LOVE! I love how the pinstriped shirt marries with the printed skirt. Until I can get my Stella Jean coins in order, I figured that the landscape art print A-line skirt by eShakti was the perfect way to recreate a budget friendly look!

For a night on the town look, I turned the saucy levels WAY up. Because the length and fit of this skirt is so demure, I figured that I could afford to have a sexier top while still keeping the look classy. And what says sexy more than a sweet pair of strappy heels?

I totally see myself rocking this skirt with a crop top, a tee in a million different ways… so much so that I might need to use that discount code sooner than later…. LOL Stay tuned.

Gail’s Inspiration Board

As we’ve mentioned before we love the when our clothing can do double duty and with that in mind I created this day to evening look using a lovely chambray dress from eShakti.

GT Eshakti polyvore

For my day look I went all business.  I paired this chambray dress with a white button down shirt worn underneath the dress.  To tote all my important papers I of course had to add a gorgeous black leather tote…the perfect touch of quiet sophistication lol.

Night time is the right time to turn it up a little bit.  I swapped out the button down shirt for a hot butterscotch leather jacket, sexy leopard print heels and some bling bling around my neck.

1. Dress: eShakti.com

Judy’s Inspiration Look

For my eShakti Day and night looks, I used a cute cream colour strapless dress from eShakti.

Judy Eshakti Polyvore

For the day look, I paired the dress with a flat camel coloured sandal and a Chloe bag. I would wear this dress for brunch with my FabFourFashion ladies to discuss our next venture.

For my night look I simply paired the dress with a cream leather vest to give my outfit an element of  sexiness.  I added a beaded clutch which looks like a beautiful piece of jewelry and strappy red and cream high heel sandals. The bow on the sandals adds a feminine touch to round out the look.

Of course a lady such as myself likes to leave a pleasant scent after she exits a room.

Hope this gives you some ideas on how to style this dress.

If you’ve been following our blog or other fashion outlets you know that the 70’s are back in full swing. This pretty little number is one I’ve been eyeing at eShakti. It gives me that 70’s feel that I am loving so much right now. Here’s how I would work this dress to bring the 70’s “back to the future” for day and night time play (ya, I know that’s an 80’s reference, but I just couldn’t resist throwing it in!).

Simply Basquiat

Group Ago Edited IMG_4598 Remix

Forget the call of the wild! The inescapable call of the Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO) was too alluring to the ladies of Fab Four Fashion this week. We were awed by the thought provoking, expressive work of painter Jean-Michel Basquiat. His large scale pieces held us enthralled, as did the beautiful lines and winding contours of the architecture of the gallery.  I mean really, who could ask for a better backdrop for our looks this week than the AGO!

Group Ago Edited IMG_4742 Remix

Leslie’s Look

I was inspired by menswear lines like Comme des Garcons or Klaxon Howl when putting my look together. As I find myself continually explaining to my sister Gail (yup, the same fine full figured femme fetal whom you know and love from this very blog), I’ve got to get dressed based on my mood.

L - B IMG_5128 Ago Edited

The Jean-Michel Basquiat exhibition at the AGO put me in the mood to play with layering print and experimenting with more masculine lines.

L - IMG_5145 Ago Edited

For this outfit I wanted a loose, relaxed look and feel that seems to often go hand-in-hand with men’s wear. I could be wrong, but no matter what they’re wearing unless it’s a tux, guys usually look comfortable.

L - IMG_5175 Ago Edited

This look was all about the layering. I decided to go with pieces that were all in the same colour family which is atypical for me. A crisp white shirt and taupe pants formed the base of this look and I proceeded to layer on a leopard print top (which is actually a dress), a brown leather jacket and a check print car coat.  My t-strap shoes, which I consider my modern-day version of spats, paired with subtly printed socks rounded out the look adding a certain retro feel!

Nancy’s Look

One of the many words that come to my mind when I think of Basquiat’s work is funky. As such, I decided to up the “funk factor” of my outfit just a smidge.

AGO N0

I was immediately drawn to this furry sleeve sweater number which I scored at Zara. As my fellow long legged (and arms!) ladies know, when I tried the sweater on, I was certain that the sleeves would be too short and wondered if it would still look nice with the sleeves scrunched up. Well to my surprise, the sleeve length worked! Which lead to a happy dance and a quick dash to the cash.

AGO N1B

Speaking of appropriate length, let’s talk about these trouser jeans from Alloy Apparel! Again, Alloy Apparel understands that our bodies come in all shapes and sizes: these jeans go from size 1 to 25 and 30″ inseam to 39″! To err on the side of caution (or was it just because it was available), I ordered the 39″ inseam. For the very first time in my life, I had jeans that were too long! And yes, that warranted a little dance as well 🙂

AGO N3

I decided to keep my outfit in fifty shades of blue! Ok, there are only about five shades… I finished my look with my favorite cobalt blue pumps and shoulder bag in a similar shade.

Gail’s Look

I have a bit of a handbag obsession….ok, it’s a big obsession.  Basically what I’m saying is that my outfit was centered around this fringed creation.

After the handbag came this white faux leather moto style jacket.  I love the road warrior feel I get when I wear it.

This charcoal gray dress is the epitomy of comfort and the twisted knot detail hides a multitude of “sins”.  The dress is also form fitting for a dash of sexiness.  The necklace I chose mirrors the fringe found on my purse and completes the look.

Judy’s Look

For my Basquiat look I was inspired by the Jenny from the Block video but with a Brooklyn touch because that’s who I’m reppin but I digress.

I wore a pair of olive green pants with a cool pleat detail at the cuff.  I paired the pants with a simple white tank top, faux leather sleeve and tweed biker jacket.

The last piece to seal the deal and complete my look are these pony camo ankle boots.
